  • Hey Guest,

Today, OFCOM launched an official investigation into Sanctioned Suicide under the UK’s Online Safety Act. This has already made headlines across the UK.

This is a clear and unprecedented overreach by a foreign regulator against a U.S.-based platform. We reject this interference and will be defending the site’s existence and mission.

In addition to our public response, we are currently seeking legal representation to ensure the best possible defense in this matter. If you are a lawyer or know of one who may be able to assist, please contact us at [email protected].

Trying to find some updates to the R2D Rebreather, I ended up perusing Dr. Nitschke's tweets. For a self-declared Humanist, he acts like a true Capitalist. Here's a tweet from late last year during the pandemic. You be the judge of what drives him. (Note the free gift wrapping offer in the ad!)

Of course he's a capitalist scumbag who profits off vulnerable people seeking ways to die by selling them an overpriced book like it was a university textbook. Same material, different year, high cost. Not to mention that he views himself as the key holder to the very best suicide methods, but won't reveal it to you unless you pay up. Not sure if he uses the money to research more methods or take trips to Thailand every 2 months.

I'll take privatized, peaceful death over nothing. If more did what he does the prices might drop, availability increase, and so on. Would be best if everyone around the globe could get killed painlessly for free, but it's far off at this point.

It reminded me of the scene in You don't know Jack, where the main character, asked how much his services would cost, replied "You don't charge people for something like this".
However, I understand that the author of the book has the right to a reasonable earnings, this advertising campaign looks disgusting to me.

The guy has got to make a living somehow, especially since he burned his medical license. However I agree with what other people are saying here. This advertising campaign looks inappropriate at best.

I don't see anything wrong with him making a living, but the book is overpriced, and so are many of the other things, like the nitrogen regulator which appears to me to be a repurposed oxygen regulator that you buy from China for about $15. It looks to me like all they're doing is changing the adaptor to make it fit a nitrogen tank and sticking a label on it to cover the original markings.

Perhaps they do some testing or recalibrate them, but it's questionable to me how they describe them, and the price they ask.

After listening to the podcasts and following exit for quite a few years, I do believe the man is a bit Shady. Listening to him describe the peaceful, quick passing by SN - Well, it's simply not true. I know people jump on defending this type of CTB but the doctor's description of this exit method is simply untrue. It may be true for a very few but it is poisoning and it is not painless and it does take a while. I only have a associate's degree in science but my entire family is in some form of the medical profession and the description that the doctor gives of this type of passing just doesn't ring true. Also, the fees and the costs of products are capitalism in its finest form.
Having said that, I am grateful that organizations such as exit exist, but I wish there was a greater prevalence of more altruistic organizations. It seems like the law picks on the easy more altruistic organizations.
