An overdose can work with
- the right type of drugs - heroin, fentanyl, benzos - and the right amount of these drugs
Since it's all the rage these days to preach about how drugs are killing people left and right, it's only natural that drugs like Valium get dragged into the conversation. But how dangerous is it really? You may be surprised.

- if you have at least 12 to 24 hours of uninterrupted privacy (if you don't have that kind of privacy at home then check into a motel room or find a reliable private place, wherever that may be )
- if you have fasted 20 to 24 hours, take an anti-nausea drug like Dramamine on your empty stomach and give it an hour to work (Dramamine has a sedative effect)
- then consume your drugs with wine or a stronger alcohol like vodka and then put a plastic bag over your head and go to sleep
People have succeeded with over the counter drugs but you'd have to follow the above model, probably take a massive amount or find the right combination, which would take research.
People have died from what is known as the Benadryl Challenge. Taking too much Benadryl is dangerous but I don't know what the exact circumstances were in these fatal cases.
Swallowing too much hydrogen peroxide can also be deadly.
Whether it's benadryl or peroxide, I don't believe either of these methods provides an easy death, death with these methods sound like it would take time and be painful and uncomfortable and the same probably holds true of all over the counter methods.
