Don't give up on SaSu... This place needs you!

I haven't been a member for very long, but I browsed and joined just in time to get a taste of the site before these recent changes. Clearly these changes are troubling, not just for me but especially for members who have been a part of SaSu for a long time.

Today I have noticed a lot of tension, more arguments, and less posting in general...

If there is to be the greatest chance of withstanding the attacks against all of us, or seeing this place return to It's former glory- It starts with all of us sticking together. Now is not the time to let petty disputes and disagreements, or disappointment with the state of things, take you away from the community. This place needs you all now more than ever!

It's heartbreaking seeing the very people who form this great community, express that they don't want to be a part of it anymore because of the way things are going lately.

It's a harsh blow having to deal with all these (hopefully temporary) changes, but losing our members would suck even more and it's what those who are against us want. Don't give them that victory.

Don't give up on SaSu, this place needs all of you and so do I.

Great opinion , Same as mine, while SS helped so many everyone was here, now that we are facing some tribulations everyone wants to jump of the page by openly saying that new alternatives are being done and telegrams groups to leave the site. Instead of being divided, let's hold hands and trust that admin and mods are one or two steps ahead. Worse things happened in the past and the ship is still sailing. And if it sings I will go down with it. SS forever. No other site Will ever come close to this.

I love this forum as well. It has been a God send to me during my darkest times. I just don't want it to keep making more and more changes that will silence our voices just so that the pro-life mob are appeased. Imagine we went to the places that they hung out and started harassing them and giving them loads of advice that they didn't ask for or want? The site is (or was) perfect for its intended purposes and doesn't need censoring or diluted. Saying that, I don't want everybody split up all over the place either. What to do, what to do.

I 100% agree with @GentleSoul and @Sherri as SS is NOT going anywhere and this site is the best thing to happen to/for me ever. I have so many friends now that I consider as my family that without Ss life would not be the same.

Yes, there is tension right now, BUT like others on here that are older, I have in my 65 years seen and went through a lot as far as aspects going up and down and around in life and you know what? Things always come out in the wash, at least for me, as good in the long run.

We just have to stay together and look toward the future.

Also, guess what, if we do not then the likes of fixrthe26 and nyt and others win. Is that what a person wants? For me the answer is a direct and loud NO!!!!!

I care about everyone on SS very much, and I do not say that as just verbal flutter, I REALLY mean it, so let's all smile, think nice and awesome thoughts of one another and band together.

I understand it's upsetting to no longer be able to discuss methods, as newer users and undecided members may not be able to get information not already archived. But I don't believe the caring and helpful community was entirely due to method talk. I think there's many other aspects of SS that created such an understanding place. It does upset me that changes needed to be made, but I would much rather see them go than to see this site be taken down.

I admit ever since method talk got banned I (even though I haven't been here long) understand why, but also am getting a lot more paranoid about who is actually interacting with me... I do worry about members being targeted individually since it's proven they already were in the past. Hard to decide whether it's worth it to stay, as I'm not as interested in debates and recovery.

Just my two cents: we are already hated by the outside world and they want us silenced because we don't buy into their shit agenda. Having tensions and conflicts inside too will only make this worse and the site even more vulnerable if we're disbanded like that.

Yes, there have been many changes made in the past days which brought confusion but keep in mind it's temporary.

I feel like an outsider here and that I don't belong, but at the same time this site makes me feel better and it's weird.

I'm not going anywhere from this supportive environment. I've been taking some time to adjust to the changes of the group as changes are not my strong point.

The people I have met via here are the most supportive, nonjudgmental, safe people I've spoken to. Not just about been suicidal but more around it such as why etc.

I like your attitude. I think we have more than enough members here who have been smacked around by reality, so I don't think I'm enlightening anyone when I say that NYT and all the powers that be will not stop until every discussion outside of the approved narrative is shut down. Couple of years ago a bunch of websites, one after another, got taken down for hate speech. Nobody said anything about it because why would anyone defend websites that promote hate speech? This is the reason. Inevitably whatever you believe in will become the next witch hunt.
I'm not giving up on SaSu, and I wouldn't advise anyone else to, but understand that a brick got taken out of this site's foundation, and it will never be put back. They will not relent, and theres no amount of discussion that will make them see things differently. There never is. Never in history were rights gotten back through civil discourse.
So hope for the best, my friends, but prepare for the worst.

Today's been pretty rough in particular and we might have lost a few good members it seems. It might be too late for that crew and I don't know if this thread will make much difference. Fair enough if someone leaves because they have got everything they need or moving on for the usual reasons. But I really wish people wouldn't bail because the site is under attack and there's been some transient changes, or a couple of members are having disagreements.
