CTB is the 2nd leading cause of death for individuals ages 20 to 34 in the US and it's rising. Numbers began steadily ticking up in the late 1990s and have risen ever since, with nearly 50,000 people in the U.S. CTB in 2022, up 3% from the previous year.

I asked myself why things seemed bleak beyond mental health issues for some and discovered CTB rates have been up, yet doctors and therapists persist with the same prescriptions, therapy treatments, and expensive healthcare that don't consider the mind and body connection and society impacts.

Some people also can't afford expensive therapies and sessions. If you don't have money in the US you can't get help so you'll likely die if you have mental issues or need medical help. The crisis line is not there to help you. They are there to route you to the police to lock you in the hospital and give you medical bills.

- Males make up about 80 percent of deaths by CTB

- People aged 85 or over have the highest rates of CTB (22 percent)

According to data from the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH), CTB deaths among 10- to 24-year-olds increased by 62% from 2007 to 2021

- The CTB rate among Black youth ages 10-17 increased by 144% between 2007 - 2020. 144%!

Between 2000 and 2020, the CTB rate rose from 10 per 100,000 to just over 14, a 40% increase in only 20 years. Between 2020 and 2021, CTB rates increased alarmingly, with nearly 48,000 Americans dying by CTB in 2021, which is 132 deaths per day or one death every 11 minutes.

Firearms remain the most common method used in CTB, accounting for more than 50% of cases in 2023. Males make up about 80% of deaths by CTB, and people aged 85 or over have the highest rates of CTB.

Why we ask? Theories? https://www.brownhealth.org/be-well/rise-suicide

When looking at state-level financial indicators, the authors found that suicide rates strongly paralleled changes in states' economic conditions, such as stagnating wages, higher unemployment and increased poverty

Don't feel bad for wanting to CTB. We know CTB isn't accurately reported by countries and attempts aren't reported either. If more knew easier ways to CTB, more would. It's been documented governments censor information to stop copy cat CTB. They need bodies for labor and taxes.

It's why they ban chemicals and ways to keep us trapped here. Every government needs bodies to work so they can tax our paychecks. You're not weird or abnormal.

Data shows CTB is consistently increasing across racial lines and backgrounds. Doctors and therapists are using the same drugs and methods pushed by pharmaceutical companies. You'd think they'd do better or adapt for better patient outcomes, but western medicine is about money.

Homelessness is ALSO at an all time high. They hate the common man who suffers in their systems yet want to shut this site down.

If you are depressed but have hope left or want to try and see a different way, go the eastern route. The western world and it capitalism is materialism and emptiness. Try to learn spirituality to help yourself before it's too late.

Uhm during the industrial revolution suicide rates were at an all time high but then gradually decreased till y2k. I think it's just that the modern internet has made finding real connections with people way to difficult. I imagine that humans are more likely to kill themselves when their either overstressed or have 0 friends. Which most people r facing both of rn, where to simply rent and pay bills u have to work for at least 30 hours a week at minimum wage... $700/24 so like 3.5 full days of work.

Do you have info or anything about this from the industrial revolución? Who is working 30 hours a week? Some are working two jobs to survive. I respect your perspective. I don't know anyone working just 30 hours and surving unless they stay with parents.

if you can you should stay with parents and save money. Rent is crazy out here in some places, but it's not the only factor on why CTB and homeslessness are at a record high in the US. I hope people in other countries are doing well.

They're about to cut Medicaid and section 8 among other things. I predict the rates of unhappy and stressed people will go up. Walmart just announced increasing their prices due to tariff hikes. My point is suicidal people aren't crazy. Some are tired and want out of the system.

Even if reincarnation is real, maybe this isn't our time so we self-select out. That's understandable.

Whats the point of restricting methods when it's so difficult to be employed? What money are they making from unemployed ppl?

I used to wonder this- as in- surely our money obsessed leaders would prefer to get rid of those members of society who aren't contributing financially.

However, when you think about it as a general picture, they create a need for sevices- eg. healthcare, pharmaceuticals. Plus, are politicians always focussed on the greater good or, feathering their own nests? I imagine they personally benefit from these pharmaceutical companies.

You'll often find they manage to do well out of a crisis. Covid was one example. Some UK MP's got into trouble for benefitting personally from PPE contacts. Like war profiteers- I'm sure they find ways to (personally) benefit.

Even members of US Congress took PPE loan money that was supposed to go to struggling businesses during Covid. They're already rich, but steal from tax payers. Rinse and repeat.

When the government found out, they were forgiven while many businesses closed and never reopened. Some of my favorite restaurants and places. Big businesses profit from crisis by swallowing their competition.

I've been feeling a general sense of things not being as positive as they were years ago. Like the game was exposed by elite rich people and their actions.

Human life has no value except money it generates for them and their systems. This is why they don't care about high homelessness and CTB rates.

Now they're trying to cut medical care for millions of people in my country and programs that provide housing for elders and people with disabilities to fund another tax cut for the rich. Even if this doesn't impact me, I don't want to be part of this society and work in their system. It's empty. Buying things don't make it better.

The problem with mental health is that the angle of preventative measures is basically completely ignored. Carcinogens are removed from our lives, healthier lifestyles are promoted to avoid coronary disease and mental decline in old age, yet mental anguish is somehow romanticized and tolerated as a fact of life. Mental health resources are thin where they exist and often being put in the impossible position to be a magic bullet against real, tangible problems they cannot nor are designed to solve. So they don't work, so numbers go up, so they get blamed.

The next best (= easiest, cheapest) solution then, naturally, is ignoring that a problem exists. Seems to work out splenditly.

Life's hard as it is and we make it even harder by treating each other like crap and then acting like "professional help" is some sort of panacea that solves everything. Sometimes I wonder what's the point in living in a society and going through hollow relationships if it's every man for himself in the end?

Also the amount of hatred and toxicity that has become rampant in social media is sickening, especially between genders. It's like people are being socially enginereed to go for each others' throats.

They are. Agencies and governments suppress media reports of CTB to block methods of how people do it and under report CTB numbers.

Medical research papers and reports confirm they do this. It's part of their prevention plans. If the media reports on it more, they say more people will check out. They suppress information and professionals continue with outdated treatment methods and drugs pushed by big pharma.

They won't admit how bleak things are for more people. I'll never forget when I learned CTB is a deep issue with doctors and medical professionals. Most don't know this and think ER doctors and others are super rich with great lives.

My world was rocked after learning medical professionals CTB due to stress and factors. I thought they had all the answers and feel for them.
