Donations

We have listed our crypto donations publically for those that wish to donate to us. Many people have requested for us to list these, so that's what I will be doing.

Your donations will be anonymous and used purely for the upkeep of the site.

If you want your donation to be public, we can also arrange that too.

Donations help keep this place running smoothly, so they're always appreciated.

Thank you to those that have donated to us in the past.

The donations that we have listed publically are listed below:

Bitcoin (BTC):

Suggestion Forum
We have a new suggestion forum where you can up and downvote suggestions that you like and don't like. The new Xenforo update allows us this functionality, so we have been making good use of these new features.

If you have any further questions, DM me.

Happy Holidays!

Happy holidays mods and staff.

Thank you for all you do, and the suggestions section is a great idea. It's really cool you hear us, and give our options weight. I would gladly donate if I had the financial means to do so.

Out of interest, where does the money go?
I'm not that tech-minded so excuse the basic question but, do you have to pay a server for this site to exist? It's something I've never really thought of before.. how much does it cost to keep this site running smoothly?
Thanks,
-A.

imo to keep a site like this running this good, at least a few full time talented workers are needed, programmers/IT administration, moderators etc. If you look up the average yearly salary for a talented programmer / IT person then you might get an estimate.I have no actual information about this website. This is just my opinion of what a site like this would cost to run. i'm just a regular member here not on staff or anything.

That makes sense, are the mods paid currently? I assume that it's the mods who do the programming / techie stuff?
I think it'd be awesome to develop an app for this site.. although wouldn't have the first clue as to how to go about doing so. I suppose you'd have to get apple & android to provide the app on their platforms wouldn't you which I imagine would be a losing battle.

Can we have a specific label attached to our user profile if we donate?

The money goes towards server costs, Cloudflare, and the mailing services we use.

Is it necessary to announce that members will be donating? I'm getting a sense of passive-aggressive competition of who contributes more to the forum. Although donations are surely appreciated and it is generous.
It is what I've seen people do on other forums, to encourage others to donate.

Can you guys take your quarrels elsewhere please? This thread is about two very important features for the longevity of this site. Donations and Suggestions, nothing more, nothing less.

I don't have to defend my words here. Thank you.
No further comments. Must have scared someone if my posts are being deleted.

Seeing some of the comments in this thread, I thought I'd point out that we should be making donations because we love being here and the support that this place offers. Like @angelz said, it seems like passive-aggressive competition.

I'm sure Marquis is grateful for whatever donations we make, if and when we're able to make them. This is a good idea because it helps the forum out as well as the co-founders.

I am done messing with crypto. Basically the fees associated with using one are what crypto mining is. How about just set up a cash app or vemeo so I can transfer the balances of my accounts when I cbt?

Can someone who understand of bitcoins Pm me so I can do it? I dunno how to.

If you want to use Bitcoin , you can download Cash App on your smart phone. These videos show it's pretty easy to buy Bitcoin.
I wish i would 've bought bitcoin a few years ago when a bitcoin was like a penny then it went up to $1 one dollar i heard recently it went up to $30,000 per Bitcoin. But it goes up and down.
