I'm tired of being a fat chud and doing nothing with my summer so I'm doing 75 days soft. I have changed some of the rules and stuff to fit it more to what I'd like to improve on and what I think is realistic. I've never stuck to any plan I've made for myself for a week let alone 75 days, but I'm really going to put my all into it. I've divided the challenge into 4 pilers: Diet, Exercise, Selfcare and Tracking & Rewarding.

Here are all my rules:

Diet Rules
Processed foods
  • Eating out x1 a week MAX
  • Processed foods for meals x1 a week MAX
  • 1 Sweet / salty treat every other day (does not count to processed food)
Water
  • 1-2 full water bottles a day (works out to about 1-2 liters)
  • Additional glass with lunch and dinner
Meals
  • Breakfast should be prepped the night before and contain at least 1 fruit, 1 dairy and 1 protein
  • Lunch and dinner much include 1 vegetable, 1 protein, and 1 starch/carb
  • May be seasoned with reasonable amount of salt
  • Eat smaller portions in general
Exercise
  • 7,000-10,000 steps each day
  • 45 mins of intentional activity per day
  • 1 workout per day with 1 rest day per week
  • Weight yourself every Sunday
Self Care
  • Limit to 1 hour of tt and insta
  • Read at least 10 of a book pages a day
  • Morning stretch
  • Skin care daily
  • Teeth brushing and flossing 2x a day
  • 30 mins of study/work/school planning per day
  • Start therapy
Tracking & Rewarding
  • Set weekly rewards
  • Use journal and planner to keep track of progress
  • Take 1 pic a day to post (can be literally anything)
Goals by the end of 75 days:
  • Lose 15 pounds
  • Create a workout routine
  • Create a general routine of selfcare
Ik this looks unorganized but I've worked all of these bullet points into a routine for myself. If I'm able to stick to this for the first week my first reward will be a nice gym set, as I don't really have any athletic clothes. I will be officially starting this Sunday, I might tweak some things before then like adding a wake up time.

If anyone is curious about the routine, rewards, or anything else I'd love to answer. I'd also love to hear your experiences if anyone has attempted something like this before :)

certainly limiting eating out is going to save you on the budget aspect at least! hehe~ and the rest looks like a bunch of healthy habits on top of it! ^_^ I hope this goes well for you, firewoodduck~ ^_^ I'm rooting for you~ :D just don't get overwhelmed and let it get to you! <3

Wow, it sounds great! I'm really proud of and happy for you. You're really putting your best foot forward and I can feel your strong resolve even through your tone. That makes me glad.

If I had any recommendation it's just to extend yourself kindness and forgiveness. It does take discipline but also don't be harsh with yourself. Sometimes being too strict will cause you to "break" and then when you snap you go all out and soak in the stuff you forbidden. So, I implore you, to be mindful of that.
Also, I've heard anecdotally, to ask, what can you add to a meal? instead of take away. It seems you subscribe to that. I'm curious how it goes.

Nothing is linear, and nothing is guaranteed, so please be patient and kind with your tender and trying heart and be flexible. I'll like you to be a friend to yourself and to team up with your ego against the issues instead of having you versus yourself. Does that make sense?

I love your icon and username. It makes me think of the goose on fire meme lol. This little duck is too cute.

Best of luck, keep us posted! XXXOOO

Thanks a bunch! I def get what you mean with being too strict and "breaking". I've tried my best to make my goals reasonable and I'm leaving some room to flex them if I think they are too easy/difficult.

Over the past week, while making up the list of guidelines, I've also been "warming up" and trying to adhere to to some of the rules already so I'm not going from 0 to 100. Ex. For dinner tonight I added a protein and took a smaller portion of carbs. My bf has told me more than once that I'm too hard on myself so I'll fs try to be kinder and more forgiving.

Ty for the compliments on my profile :)

I will post my first update tomorrow, as Terminator would say "I'll be back" 👍

Day 1 has come to a close so it's time to update you guys!

What better way to start this that getting a UTI (fuck my stupid puppy life). It was hella painful for the first bit of the day before I got it under control.

Diet:

For breakfast I had:
  • Greek yogurt with extra protein and a teaspoon of jam
  • Potato wedges from last night's dinner with homemade Cane's sauce
  • Cherries
Normally I would have just had the wedges and maybe toast or something lol

For lunch I had orange chicken rice and asparagus
For dinner my family ordered pizza, so I had that and a side salad :)

Exercise:

For exercise, I biked to my local Walmart and then to my boyfriend's house, which totaled around 50 mins of biking. I was going to bike to the library to pick up a book I had placed on hold, but it was closed :(
Before I went to bed I walked around my kitchen and on my treadmill to get the steps I was missing, totaling 7078 steps!

Selfcare:

I did my stretching, teeth brushing and skincare. I probably won't mention this stuff everyday just because it'll get repetitive. I need a new tube of toothpaste but I keep forgetting to grab one, I think it only has one brush left in it.

I'm going to try to clean a small area everyday and today that area was my nightstand! I'm too embarrassed to post the before so here's the after (idk if the image is going to work but trust I cleaned it)

I read 10 of Bunny by Mona Awad. This book is genuinely so so good. Its Heathers meets physiological horror. If anyone is looking for something to read I HIGHLY recommend it. 1782714046935 1782713996125

I have a few things I'm doing that aren't necessarily part of the challenge but go towards bettering myself:\
  • I've had a small wart on my hand for a while and I put a wart bandage on it
  • I've had some pain in my hips/legs and booked an appointment with a Osteropath to help that
  • I've been needing a new bookshelf since last summer, so I looked into what I want to buy (a billy bookcase)

Tracking & Rewards

I did my journaling, I might reconsider what to do as my one week reward, but ig we will see.

I wasn't sure where to put this, but I told my bf about 75 Soft and he asked if I could add a "Boyfriend's Choice" for each day. He REALLY wants me to read One Piece, so for his first choice he's making me read 1 volume in two days, meaning I have to finish it tomorrow, I am currently on Volume 8

That's all I have for now, thanks to everyone and their kind words! I'm open to any question anyone might have.
Today was a 4.5/10 in difficulty, the UTI at the beginning really kicked my ass, but once the pain subsided from that everything else was pretty easy. See you guys tomorrow!

Best of luck, your plan looks very good but if I'd any advice I'd maybe say 2 rest days or even 2 rest days every other week.

You're doing so well and I'm soooo happy to see it. Hip, hip, hooray, yip, yip, yippee ♡

Please keep posting on your Bunny progress! I read the book in a single sitting, I was so enthralled with it. It was super surreal – and strange – but quite cool.
One Piece is a lifetime's worth of reading LOL.

You did great today.

If something goes wrong with weight loss, I really recommend tracking your calories in an app. For me it's a literal lottery to gain/lose weight without counting them accurately, but maybe it's just me lmao. I also suggest strength training, it will preserve or maybe build (if you're a beginner) some muscle during a caloric deficit. Keep going

This sounds amazing, I wish you luck! I agree with jesteroutofwork that you should consider tracking your calories and macros. I think people who haven't actively counted all the nutrients they often surprised by the nutritional and calorie content of foods they think are healthy or unhealthy but are actually much different from their expectation.
