I can absolutely understand why you would feel this. It's horrible how so many people suffer.
I suppose we have this hope that life on earth should be fair and nice. Maybe because of things like: religion, law and social etiquette. This idea that- so long as we follow the rules, we ought to be treated fairly and rewarded. What if they're just human concepts made up to keep us in line though?
Is nature itself conscious? Is gravity conscious? Gravity can be good or bad depending on whether you want fruit to fall to the ground when you shake the tree or, if you're falling off a ladder. Gravity doesn't likely give a shit though- whether it helped you collect the fruit or, broke your collarbone. It just kind of 'is'. It's just how this world works. Similarly, animals have evolved to predate and exploit other animals and plants. It's not exactly malicious. They've just evolved to survive best when they do that.
I actually feel we can only properly term things 'good' or 'bad' if there was intention to make them that way. Which I feel ultimately would have to have come from God. Hence why I really hope there isn't one! Because I do agree with you- for some, this is hell on earth- sadly.
