I'd seen this on South Park the other day though Cartman used an electric vehicle so it was of course ineffective.

Would this method of taping a hosepipe from the exhaust through to the vehicle interior really work and how long would it take?

Does it have to be within a enclosed space like a garage to work?

I have access to two vehicles a 90's diesel van and a 2014 diesel car could I succeed with either of these vehicles or would it need to be a petrol vehicle?

Please, any advice is appreciated!

I don't recall the precise details (not a car guy lol), but I'm pretty sure it's practically pointless to try this with any automobile manufactured after 1975 when equipping cars with catalytic converters became mandatory in the US.

I'm in Europe, the van has no Catalytic Converter according to Chat GPT as it only had to meet Euro 2 emissions standards so would the method work with the van?

I guess the car is a non starter considering it has a Catalytic Converter and EGR Valve which sends gasses back into the engine?

i don't think any method in a show or movie would work because the ppl making it wouldn't want to give accurate instructions on how to commit suicide

With no catalytic converter, your chances of success via this method are much higher. Assuming you properly close off all seals to prevent leakage, I imagine this should work.

I think even modern engines without converter produce much less carbon monoxide then older model. I suggest checking the carbon monoxide thread most will used charcoal as a more reliable CO source
