I read somewhere that the the rubber stopper can diminish the N if there's contact. I don't know how true that is and can't seem to find any further information. Would it have diminished the N if the bottles have been lying on their side for 4 months? Thought maybe that's why there is 3/4 full. Any help appreciated

I don't see biologically how that would occur, I think you are fine. The biggest thing is not opening it and keeping it sealed in a dark and cool location. Doesn't have to be pitch black, but not in direct light.

Yeah I thought it sounded strange. PPH also had a brief mention of it when considering the strength of it. Got me a little worried.

Interesting, PPH mentions it? What exactly do they say about it? I would imagine different manufacturers have different bottles, different stoppers etc so I don't really see how PPH could even get an accurate answer on that given every bottle would differ and even by the same manufacturer things change year to year with their own suppliers and that type of rubber may have changed. I honestly wouldn't stress it too much as long as you keep it stored in a cool place with no direct light. Also, I wouldn't save it for years and years but if you do, know that studies have shown that there is nothing wrong with expired medications. Even by 5-10 years. It just weakens it a bit. But with something as lethal as N, I wouldn't be too worried as the amount time weakens it isn't by like 50%. It's not even by 20-30%. It's probably only by 5% or so after a few years, if that.

I can't remember what page it was on. But in the Nembutal testing part, it stated that when testing for quality you need to consider certain things and included the rubber stopper but didn't specify why or any further details. That's why I was confused and posted this.

I think you are talking about the part where it says that for testing the drug you must withdrawn it using a syringe without breaking the sterile seal (the "rubber"). You must FULLY open the bottle (by removing the stopper) only when you are ready to use it for CTB. So to sum up: until the rubber stopper is on the quality is PRESERVED.

Does testing without breaking the metal seal preserve quality for both sterile and non-sterile N (Dolethal)? What do you think?
