To those that have attempted hanging and failed - did it hurt? Was it terrifying? Did it feel like your eyes were exploding?

It's the most accessible to me but only want to consider it as a last resort as I am absolutely petrified of the pain and consequences of a failed attempt.

Yes it hurt a little. But not really too bad. Just becareful because failure can be bad if people find out.

I tried partial hanging, it hurts if you block the air way, cause then it feels like your head is going to explode. Once you get the rope right, I was using a tie, it's comfy, I wasn't able to pass out, but I felt kinda high

Thank you :) Where is the right spot to place the rope? Do you know of any helpful videos or info online?

Thanks for letting know. If you don't mind me asking - why did it fail? I am terrified of the potential outcomes

Your carotid arteries, they are around your Adams apple, look for heart beat on your neck, first block them with your hands, both of them, if you feel high, or your vision grows dark, that's it you found the place. It's impossible to pass out via your hands, so don't expect to do so btw

With full hanging you have to block carotid arteries too or can it be neglected because the gravity will decide over the loop position on your neck anyway?

i attempted partial hanging - whereby the objective is to constrict the carotid arteries (a blood choke), rather than the windpipe. if done correctly, it will be painless and quick.

during my attempt, i did not feel any pain. rather, i felt a little pressure in the front of my forehead. my vision started to go black from the peripherals inward, and i started to see fuzzy colours before blacking out.

i failed because my rope was not secure to my anchor point, and i slipped to the floor.

i think that with full suspension hanging, you are not able to constrict the carotid arteries due to the placement of the rope - although, i have not done extensive research into this method, so i may be wrong.

although, granted that your knots are secure, you can't touch the ground after kicking the chair + other factors - full suspension hanging is thought to be 100% reliable. whether it's painless or not, quick or not - you will die eventually.

It's impossible to pass out via your hands, so don't expect to do so btw
it is, in fact, possible to pass out by constricting your carotid arteries using your fingers - although, SI will prevent this for many people trying.

Thank you so much for your detailed response 90starve. This was very helpful and brings me a lot of comfort knowing that if I do it right it doesn't have to be agonizing and terrifying.

The thought of hanging in full suspension and feeling that shit for 10-20 minutes is harrowing. My heart goes out to all that met their end this way.

I hope you're doing okay 90starve, you seem like a cool person! ♥️

As a teenager, I hanged myself under full suspension. Obviously, I survived because the cloth I was using unwrapped just as I went unconscious, and I came too on the floor.

During those few moments, I felt no pain, my ears rang, and the inside of my head heated up. The only discomfort I had, was that I could not inhale or exhale. My chest felt frozen. I felt I would have slipped away if the knot had held.

Full suspension hanging will be very torturous, you're suffocating for gods sake. Partial hanging would be better, but its more complex in my opinion. I would recommend you to do partial but do whatever you please. Good luck.

If the hanging (full) is done with a certain degree of professional skill, the sensation lasts only a few seconds (-10) and is of little pain.
