Does anyone regret an attempt that nearly killed them ONLY BECAUSE they realised they DIDNT want to die?

Does anyone regret a near miss attempt ( near miss for whatever reason, method failure, found, sheer 'luck') but ONLY because they realised they DIDNT want to die?
