Does anyone know how to fix a shower knob?

Yeah, title is fucking comedy gold. I haven't had a shower in two days. If I turn the knob all the way to the right it's cold, all the way to the left, it's cold. Everywhere in between is scorching hot with no pressure control. How the fuck do I fix this? I've had a shitty few days and I'm to the point that I want to blow my head off over a damn shower.

The problem sounds like its in the back. I think its called the temp control valve. but its the thing that controls the hot and cold. You probably want a new one.

Its a mixing valve and he said that its most likely the problem. I hope this helps

Then spin the knob back and forth as fast as possible, should balance it out.
