I have extreme sensory issues due to having aspergers. The simplest things that most people wouldn't give a second thought about can really give me intense anxiety and it interferes with my everyday life. This could be something like the way clothing feels against my skin, the annoying seam in socks, feeling like clothes don't fit properly etc. I can get paranoia over my body parts too, for example the past few days I've felt like my bottom lip doesn't feel right, that it feels too big, even though when I look in the mirror it doesn't look big and there doesn't seem to be anything wrong with it. But I'll obsess over this to the point of almost experiencing a panic attack. This may seem silly to a lot of people but it's something that I experience 24/7. This plus my physical illness and countless other issues.

I cannot stand noise, certain people's voices, light, wind, certain textures, certain tastes, certain patterns, certain hues, repetitive bodily motion and oddly enough, faces. A lot of faces can be painful to look at.

To me it sounds like you might also have OCD, though.

It's one of the things that limit me very much in choice of partner, too. Morons who peddle 'plenty of fish in the sea' do not understand that someone's breathing as they sleep or a habit of repetitive motion or the timber of their voice or their accent can make them completely ineligible for me. Not to mention how 'superficial' you get when a lot of faces are unbearable to even look at.

All these things bother me as well. A lot of my behaviour is obsessive but never thought I had OCD. Have you been diagnosed with anything if you don't mind me asking?

From observation, OCD is the one condition that takes most courage and insight to deal with. Aspergers itself can involve some obsessive streak, though. Is there a creative purpose you channel obsessive tendencies to?

No problem, I've not been diagnosed with anything, but have considered myself on the spectrum because of sensory issues and transition issues. Have no problem with eye contact, communication or socialising, though, pretty extroverted.

I do have obsessive behaviours and repeat these over and over again which is an Aspergers trait but I don't channel these into anything specific. Don't really have any hobbies. I worry too much so can't concentrate on anything for too long... :notsure:

Though it will be mental anguish, I'd suggest finding a channel at any cost. Otherwise the mind is like an empty stomach that eats itself up. Do you enjoy reading?

From a child I've been into one creative thing or another. It's like there is all this processing power and it needs to go somewhere.

Yes I read. Mostly non fiction real life stuff. Could spend a whole afternoon on Wikipedia... :hihi:

and I totally get what you're saying. It's important to have an outlet. Unfortunately I often get distracted by something...

Fiction can have an attention-consuming and soothing quality if you hit on the right stuff. There is nothing wrong with spending an afternoon on Wikipedia, either. :)

Yes and this is caused from a condition I have called complex regional pain syndrome which is the highest ranking pain condition in medical history. All the senses bring pain? Tastes touch, especially sound, sight and smell. One doctor looked at me once and said to me...don't get upset when I ask you this but are you retarded. I was so disgusted and pissed off. Umm no not retsrded...just have an illness that you know nothing about. I know many people that hurt so bad they can't wear clothing. My mother hurt my arm a month ago and I couldn't even lay it on a pillow and the pain is still there. I have it in my ears the worst so I can't leave the house since there's nothing outside but noise. So I've been secluded for 14 years....more than that. The pain is excruciating. I can see our problems are completely different but they both cause a lot of anxierty.

That sounds horrible I'm so sorry. As well as the sensory issues, aspergers and anxiety I also have a lot of yet undiagnosed physical pain. Burning in the stomach, head, legs, hands, and feet. Toes and fingers are so numb and burn so much that I can't walk far. I constantly feel nauseous and throw up a lot. My body is also very sensitive to touch. So I can relate a little bit but it's probably not as bad as you're describing. I've also been secluded a long time though I occasionally can go out but not for long. I can't believe a doctor said you were retarded I would've told him to go f himself...
