Useless piece of trash

Hi. I know all the partial hanging basics. I'm using 10mm static rope and a slip knot.
I'm having a really weird issue that I never see anybody else talk about whatsoever.
When I practice partial suspension by leaning into the rope only slightly,or even use my fingers to grab my carotids,I feel that suffocating feeling that I'm not getting enough oxygen. But I'm not putting much pressure on my windpipe at all, especially with my fingers. I know that the brain is being starved of oxygen. But I've never heard of anyone saying that it consciously triggers the suffocation feeling.
Its not a dealbreaker though,I will still use partial anyways. But has anyone else had this happen? I'm just really curious if it's only me or not.
Thanks for any response.
