biological children def no - my genes are shit when it comes to mental health and i would never to that to a child. adoption or fostering could be an option but i don't think i have it in me to care for another human or that i would be a good parent given my own childhood.

Never. I can't imagine sacrificing all my time, flexibility, money and agency for...the privilege of....what? I can't find a single upside, personally.

I wish I could be a father, but don't think I have the capacity to be a good one. On top of that I don't want my children to have autism like me and lead the same life I've had to. I would do my best for them but I don't think my best would be very good and nobody deserves that. It's too bad more parents don't have my attitude and instead bring in children they either can't raise or loathe. The world would be a lot better if they didn't bring in children. There'd be less criminals, less violence, and less suffering overall.

Broken households create broken children which create more broken households for more broken children.

Title

I personally wouldnt bring children to this world due to state of the world at the moment, but I may adopt in the future if i find a husband.

It would be brutal raising kids between 2 dudes though, so Im a bit skeptical about it.

@Lost in a Dream
I want kids desperately, I have for years, but I dont think I should have them as I doubt I'd be a good mother

No, I'm too old for it now anyway but, even when I was younger, I was so worried they'd turn out like me. I couldn't bare to see my child experience even 1% of what I have experienced. I just don't think the nicer things in life compensate for the bad.

Plus- to prepare them to succeed in this world, I'd have to be an entirely different person. And, I kind of hate the whole: 'Do as I say, not as I do' mantra. It's so hypocritical. I don't think my (creative) genes would do well in this world either. It was difficult enough for me. That's something else I'd prefer to spare them.

I was lucky in a way- that I wasn't attractive enough to attract someone. It maybe wouldn't have been impossible at times- that I still would have considered having children. I'm so relieved- for both of us- that I didn't. I feel weirdly protective towards my unborn children. I feel like they're so much safer not existing in this world to begin with.

Plus, I'm doing my small part in not over burdening the environment. Think of the massive carbon footprint the childless protect this world from. Not only from our consumer/ polluter children but their children and their children and so on.

I'd like to help someone have a wonderful life, one they can see all the great things about this world, and if adopted, make them play cool video games to learn more, but for that money is needed. I could not hold sadness if I had to buy the cheapest aliment because I don't have the funds

i used to think i didnt until recently. i went to a family reunion and a very very shy kid came up to me maybe 10 years old and she was so excited that i knew what the amazing digital circus was that we ended up having an hours long conversation about it and her other interests. it made me feel so happy that i could be that person she could talk to.
im trans so adopting a kid is probably impossible for me but maybe one day i can. i hope.

i love the idea of raising kids and starting a loving family but bringing kids into a world like this is pure selfish , knowing all the risks and things i know I just can't

if i actually live to an appropriate age i'll adopt

My lizard brain says yes and there's nothing I can do about it. I will not settle for anything other than biological children. The only saving grace is that I am so unable to get a partner that I probably won't ever be able to have children no matter how much I want to.

For me personally under absolute ideal conditions (fully/semi paid off house, paid of car, being married, having some money in the bank and a stable job) i would love to have a good few children and i don't mean 2 or 3 I'm talking about 5 to 10 kids.

sadly, that reality is just a dream and will never happen. ;-;

However, i do sympathize with everyone saying about the shithole of a world we live in.

Sorry but cats are so much better than people

Nope, never wanted them and now I'm too old. I really don't enjoy being around babies or young children so it's been a pretty easy choice. The main reasons though are that I don't want to pass on my genes which are prone to so many medical issues, the world is a terrible place, and I knew I didn't have the energy needed to take care of someone else.
I do enjoy my cats though.

I'd love to be a father but my ugly face keeps all the ladies away. Also i am poor and no company wants to hire me. Two of the reasons why i want to go after my parents pass. There is nothing in this world to give me purpose to exist.

i would never want to have any children .

it seems to me most on this thread don't want to have children.

also the child birth rates are cratering especially in countries like South Korea but most the birth rate is declining

imo it's another lie they perpetuate that there is this instinct to have children .

yeah there is an instinct to drink water. i can't stop eating and drinking water and then not suffer the torture of extreme thirst and extreme desire for water. but i never had any desire for having children or many of the other things they say humans have to want or believe .

i lean way on the side of the environment for forming the brain and beliefs . scientists like Merlin Donald, David Eagleman Bruce Lipton Dana Pycher many others agree.

what did you know at 1 day old nothing .. just a few basic instincts and those are what one can observe in a 1 day old human. practically everything else was learned no programmed in by society cultture, media , others.

No. I have lots of reasons that I don't want to share on here. I think deep down part of me did want children at one point but it's not for this lifetime. Maybe in another. I need to focus on looking after myself after neglecting my own needs for so long.

no because i would never put someone in a position that would ruin them exactly how it did to me. i want to kill myself because of my family so it makes no sense to birth a child who will also be apart of this family and inherit all of the generational trauma and mental illness. the child would probably grow up to resent me just like how i grew up to resent my parents. at least i can control this one part of life i guess.

No. Even if I found the partner of my dreams like they materialized out of thin air & introduced themselves, I find children unethical and I am not parent material. I'm not sure what reality people are living in, but I remember summers growing up full of bugs & lizards and breezes, it was my favorite season; every. single. summer for the past 8-10 years has been absolutely infested with fires, poor air quality, the worst, most sweat inducing, hellish fucking heat and humidity, record breaking everything. Spring and autumn have seemingly become almost nonexistent, I've witnessed them whittle down to just a few weeks out of the year for each. I didn't grow up in a place with winter, but I've been living somewhere with all 4 seasons for over half a decade now, when I moved here Christmas time was covered in beautiful, fresh, puffy diamond-glinting snow, for the past 2-3 years the bodies of water we have don't even freeze over until January. I swear I remember the first major fire season as like a sharp turn, normal summers to suddenly being inside for weeks on end while the outside sky was reddish-orange and snowing ash non-stop, and then it never stopped happening annually every year since. I have to wear extra strength prescription anti-perspirant in the summers now or else I sweat literal rivers from my armpits and reek like B.O. 1 hour after a shower. There are no bugs anymore, it's a treat to see wild life, the last few years living where I grew up I never saw lizards or insects running around in my backyard anymore, even though as a kid I remember finding and catching them regularly. Where I live now I see small mammals and birds often, but still not many bugs... and bugs are my favorite group of creature ever. Bugs are the foundation of everything, they're the ground level of the ecosystem, and they're disappearing and people don't even notice because they don't like them, they used to be everywhere, I mean they make up 80% of the fucking animal kingdom, so where the fuck are they? There used to be a lot more of them. At this point the decline is so glaringly obvious every year.. every summer is hotter, every winter is weaker.., it's not ethical to be having children, I don't think I even believe gen Z and gen Alpha are gonna have full lifespans, the next 10 years seems pretty bleak, and now A.I. data centers are being constructed everywhere there's a fresh body of water to suck up, people are having babies just so they can burn alive before 30. All this incessant political discourse, identity politics, "Us vs Them", "Black vs White", "Cis vs Trans", "Hetero vs Homo vs Bi", "U.S. vs the world", etc, etc. Meanwhile none of these people who all hate each other and themselves are gonna live much longer if I had to guess, everyone wants to pick apart each other and drown in their own hypocrisy on the internet before they acknowledge that the actually important, pressing issue is that the Earth is burning. Guess humans aren't gonna figure out their own dynamics, they're just gonna kill themselves in a boiling pot of water.

Don't even need to explain how I am not parent material, I think the above is reason enough not to have children.
