I would like to know if shooting oneself into their mouth towards the brain with a shotgun will die instantly or will it hurt terribly and then will die?

Well, @Alexa74 I've been reading a lot of topics here and there, but it's quite impossible if you're shooting using the right angle and aiming in the head on a very important area that will kill you instantly. I have the same issues as you so I'd made some research to a failproof plain, like shooting myself in the head while using a rope in a very high bridge so if for some reason I miss the shot, the rope will do the trick. But considering the power of a shotgun, aiming correctly will kill you immediatelly and without pain. Check here for "methods", there's a topic about Guns that you help you for sure.

No, you will not feel pain. You are literally destroying your entire brain when you shoot yourself in the head with a shotgun. You wouldnt even hear the sound of the shotgun being fired, thats how fast you'd die. It's just a very, very messy method, and the person who finds you will be completely traumatized by the sight if they're not a trained professional. Its the most effective yet most brutal method there is.

Well, if/when I CTB, this is the method I will likely use. There's no games involved, when you pull the trigger (assuming it's lined up right), you're gone. No way back, no recession, no time to regret.

I'd recommend reading through the guns/firearms mega thread. Idk how to link it, but you can search it up in the forums

People keep saying I wish there was a button you could press and you'd be dead. That's it but it's squezing a trigger of a shotgun. As others have said if you hit the brain you won't hear the shot nothing you'd be dead before you can register pain or anything happening. look at the ronnie mcnut video. less than a micro second his whole head was gone . it's like that . there are some high speed rifle ones ive seen on wpd watch people die website.it's the same thing most of the head gone in a micro second the frame of the video can't even catch it.

Feel like seeing this would traumatize anyone
Law enforcement and EMTs have to see things like that for a living, but for the average person, its going to scar them for life. They wouldnt even have to be close to you, its just so shocking to see, even on video. Your whole room will be splattered with blood, skull fragments, teeth, and brain matter. I couldn't imagine walking in on that scene...which is why ill never use a shotgun...i dont want to do that to anybody.

Check these source:

Very helpful, but it depends where you live. Shotguns in Brazil still can be purchased, but there's a lot of papers and taxes. But shotgun for sure is the "the one"

Forgot to mention earlier, but a 12 gauge shotgun with buckshot seems to be the most effective/least likely to fail. There's many things that will work, but that's what this megathread discusses

It's about as instantaneous a death as one can ever achieve.

Have you ever looked online at what the aftermath of a gunshot would to the head looks like? Exiting the barrel at around 1200 fps average, by the time you squeeze the trigger, the pellets are already delivered to their intended location, taking out any pathways for pain reception. Practically speaking, it all happens in a fraction of a fraction of a fraction of a second.

How does one know that they are lining it up right? I've looked a diagrams of the brain stem, but it seems difficult to know what you're aiming at when looking into your mouth. Do you aim slightly upwards from your tonsils or something?

How do you even fit the barrel of a shotgun in your mouth and still know it's aimed correctly? It seems like such a huge weapon, and some don't even have a long barrel either. (the pump action types) I guess there is more margin for error with such a powerful gun, once you're not dumb enough to put it under your chin or something. But even McNutt still died doing this, presumably because the gun was so powerful. I think they said he used a single shot rifle or something, but it looked like a single barrel shotgun.

i would say instant death, but to be sure hit the brain stem, by doing that try to aim for a 45 degree angle in your mouth and you should be lights out.

Statistically it's one of the most effective methods. Even if it's aimed badly the sheer amount of damage it does, particularly with a 12 gauge is generally way more than enough to succeed.

I've seen pics of this type of suicide and it's beyond gruesome. My aunt cleaned up after a shotgun suicide on a balcony. The scene was almost a month old and all dried on. Just hearing about I got me feeling sick.

I think about doing it this way because it would be so easy for me. But the aftermath makes me unsure.

You can practice lining it up with a stick or some cardboard or the gun itself in the mirror. From my understanding, you want to line it up towards the back of your head, rather than the front, since it's *technically* possible to survive damage to the pre-frontal cortex. However, this chance is low with a 12 gauge shotgun. The sheer destructive force of the gun, especially loaded with buckshot, leaves plenty of room for error. And again, I'd suggest checking the firearms mega thread. More info there

The muzzle velocity of the projectile(s) exiting the barrel is actually faster than the speed of the body's pain receptors sending signals to the brain.

So no, you wouldn't feel any pain unless you majorly fucked up and just blew your face off without hitting the vital parts of your brain.

Its best if you can do this outdoors in a lonely place where animals and nature will tidy things up.

It's just a very, very messy method, and the person who finds you will be completely traumatized by the sight if they're not a trained professional.

I see posts like this a lot. While it isn't wrong to say that a head shot with a shotgun leaves a very gruesome scene, focusing on the goriness of this one method glosses over the fact that all dead bodies are very nasty to encounter.

If you want to leave as pretty a corpse as possible, you can try flash-freezing yourself. Becoming a solid mass of ice and meat as instantaneously as possible will reduce the chances of you soiling and wetting yourself as your sphincters relax post-mortem.

However, as soon as your body starts to thaw, bacteria will begin breaking your tissues down, starting with those within your digestive cavities. Disfiguring bloat will follow, as well as discoloration of the skin. Insect activity begins both on and within the body and soon becomes intense, giving off a characteristic odor.

…and that's a "pretty" corpse. My suggestion is just to accept that dead people all look and smell horrible. Bodies are around 150 lbs of rotting meat, after all.

If you're worried about blood and the various fluids of decomposition damaging the room in which you die, then ctb in the great outdoors is always an option.

from what I've heard, it's a bad idea to shoot yourself at the mouth. I think that it's easy to mess up and the bullet could not go directly to the brain, but instead leave you severely injured and probably with your face desfigured
of course, that if is you mess up! don't take my word too seriously

There is no messing up with a shotgun the concussive force alone would be instantaneous

Small caliber pistols and arms even some rifles absolutely a risk of bad angle but a shotgun unless it is sitting directly on your chin it won't miss

While I think the temple would be a better place, aiming there with a shotgun is hard and it makes more sense to put it in the mouth, but proper aiming is extremely important for a instant and painless death.

15-20 degree angle so you hit the medulla oblongata. If you aim straight up you blow your face off and get to live out the rest of your life drooling on yourself in a wheelchair.

You're aiming for the medulla oblongata, it's the human off switch essentially. Imagine a protractor over this image, the medulla oblongata should be between 15-20 degrees. Istockphoto 1092334754 612x612
