Why do you feel like you're an error of nature? I have chronic health/pain issues and depression/anxiety so I consider myself a genetic fuck up who should never have been born. On that basis I want to neutralise myself.

Humanity is an error of nature. Nature is an error of the Universe.

But yes, many suffer for being naturally aberrant. I don't think they should automatically not be in this world, but if their particular brand of "error" causes them to suffer then they should certainly be allowed a way out of their misery. Modern medicine keeps a lot of people alive that ethically shouldn't be.

Yes, some are perhaps more maladjusted to the life they were born in than others, but I think we are all "errors" in some way, or, maybe more accurately, simply "unnatural". I put these in quotation marks because they imply negative states of being, while, despite their "unnaturality", there are plenty of people in the world who take advantage of this, and it is our uniqueness that makes us valuable :)

I am 100% with you. My way of thinking seems very off, and is not the most compatible way to be the most productive human being. I am very talented at what I do, but I say and do the most stupid things anyone can imagine.
I tell woman I love them and practically ask them to marry me even before going on a date. I have been alone all my life, but I'm by no means a failure in the job world. I feel I am just an outcast wandering through, and I think if people understood how I feel, they would not be upset at me for ending it.
I feel everyone has the right to do what it best for their life. We volunteer to put animals down to get them out of misery, and I see no difference in why humans shouldn't be the same.

It's not true, in actuality, that there are people the are supposed to be or not supposed to be here. You might say it's worse than that. Everything is incidental. You belong as much as anyone. You're miserable for no particular reason other than happenstance genetics and the interplay of those with the environment.

That said, I have felt this way before. It seems easy to feel as though you don't belong when you've been in social leper for the better part of your life.

You know how they grew test tube babies in Brave New World, and individually tailored each new human to suit a certain niche and serve a purpose in the grand scheme of things? I feel like one of the unsatisfactory defects they tossed out, because I cannot do anything productive or useful for society. Sometimes I wish I had been born during the roman empire so that I could have been discarded off a cliff.

Doesnt' the error pressuposes that there was an right course of action or a right outcome or whatever? I don't believe that nature makes things for a specific purpose, I think things just happen. Think of a brute force way of finding a password. You pick a lot, only a few/one fits, everything else gets naturally discarded. I think it's similar thing with living lumps of flesh. Gazillions of combinations out of which a couple of billions happen to be fit enough to exist for long ehough, but not all of them are fit enough to enjoy the ride.

If you imagine the sphere as a... set of all possible lumps of flesh, I don't know, and the core would be like the orgiin, and the distance from the origin represents time, then we would see the cone of the living, while the rest part of the sphere consists of experimental variations of lumps that didn't make it into existence. But not everyone inside the living cone is equal, of course. There would be humans on the margins, on the cone's edge, close enough to non-existence but still inside the realm of the living. Closer to the cone's creamy center are the fittest of us. Fittest here aren't necessarily the luckiest, but simply the ones who are better at surviving and reproducing.

Society as it is now isn't what anyone is built for. Some people manage to squeeze themselves into the little boxes we're expected to fit, but it isn't healthy or natural for anyone. I don't think not being able to do that means there's something wrong with you. Humanity fucked itself up and we're all suffering the consequences.

Exactly this, except being talented at (any) job.

I've been jumping from job to another so much that it appears clear to me that i am just not able to function in society. If there is no way to contribute, why bother ?

That said, i don't think there are actual 'errors' of nature.

Having a chronic condition, sometimes I too can't shake the feeling that I'm not like the others.

However, that doesn't mean others expect anything less from us. Words like 'fighter' and 'survivor' have been used to describe those who've been there, done that. Many do indeed draw strength from military metaphors such as the ones above, taking up arms against debilitating illness. However, I can't help but take the not-so-subtle hints that've been dropped, on what society expects from us. Does it make you a coward to lay down your weapons and surrender? Are you not trying hard enough to get better? What about those who do not make it through?

Chronic pain's also the reason why I'm childfree. I refuse to play Russian-roulette with genetics. I'm unwilling to pop out to-be slaves to the system, living under the illusion of free will.

I feel like an error of nature. When I start getting sick I obsess with if nazis had won ww2 then I wouldn't even exist. My grandad would have been euthanised by them because of his own mental illness so my dad wouldn't have been born. It almost devastates me that the won't consider euthanasia or eugenics or whatever it is on the mentally ill because that would really save me some problems

As a parasite that nearly killed my mother during birth (she would remind me), yes. I was an unplanned mistake, that, despite doctor's orders was conceived far too soon after my older sibling.

I don't think that nature is evil and has something to do with it. But, yes, there are people, wich existence is like an error, causing only hurt and pain to others by abuse, unnecessary violence and mostly by stupidity.
