Method Do you think exsanguination via shooting myself in the thigh would work?

I've been considering bleeding out, but I know cutting isn't effective. Would bleeding out through a bullet wound work?

Yeah... I couldn't use a gun myself... but if you have the fortitude to use a gun on yourself... why would you go the more painful route?

There are reasons. For example if you want an open casket, and don't want to blow your brains out for one or another reason. However OP would have to locate the femoral artery which isn't entirely easy and they could always miss, requiring more shots. Theoretically yes if you managed to directly shoot the femoral, you'd bleed out in a few minutes, but practically you could just disable yourself.

Op should answer. But for me it's very difficult to consider. It's what I want to do. I know the gun I want to buy and the location of the shot. Slightly above the ear. But it's so hard to think about. I watched videos to hopefully make it easier, but maybe they made it worse. A thigh and bleeding out is perhaps easier to visualize than what happens when you shoot the head.

Head wound is too... I don't know, it seems like it would be worse. I don't want to live those last few seconds with my brain in pieces. I don't want to know what that's like.

No death is instant. The human body is much more resilient than people realize. It's difficult to say how what it's like since most people die, but many people die of blood loss. No one really knows for sure...

Well I'm planning to blow my head off with a shotgun. That will be near instantaneous death.
