I think that when climate change hits the fan some pro-lifers, especially the ones that aren't religious, will actually start to finally understand how suicide can be rational since it'll undeniably be so painful and chaotic that they'll no longer be able to deny the fact that sometimes death is better than suffering. Not only that but I think it may even become encouraged since in a climate apocalypse a lot of people, especially hyper-individualists, will have a "dog eat dog" mentality that'll cause them to see other people CTBing as a positive since it'll free up resources.

Absolutely not! And I think humanity is doing a great job these days with focusing and coming up with new sustainable re-sources. And ways of living. 🌞 It doesn't really correlate with suicide at all in my opinion, but haha

If climate change leads to a collapse of our industrial society, which is a distinct possibility in the second half of this century, though not yet a certainty, it certainly will. About 90% of the population would die in such a situation, and the choice would be between dying slowly of starvation or doing it more quickly yourself.

The thought of it is so exciting and relaxing. It's more and more likely that zones that are largely populated will become uninhabitable. People will struggle to survive and therefore will try to get to countries that have the resources. We already know that countries don't want poor immigrants/refugees and will do everything to keep them out. But those people have nothing to lose.
I don't want to live with the tensions, the increased struggle to get basics necessities, the mass murder of innocents. And I can't stand the egoistic rich that ignore it and actually just profit from this whole situation.
It's only fair to offer a way out for those who don't want to be part of it. Unfortunately, it's likely that governments will try to get every able-bodied person to work and don't care if those people choose to CTB themselves. And why should they waste resources on a painfree exit? If you can't/don't want to work then well... You gotta take care of it by yourself.

So, no. Even though I wish it would be the case, there is no reason for them to give you peace. You are more worth as a wageslave or a soldier protecting their interests.

My sense is that modern "climate anxiety" is a psychosomatic delusion.

Sure, if environmental degradation renders farmland unusable or certain regions become arid, and you're like a farmer, you might want to kill yourself.

But I'm doubtful that people will think suicide is more or less acceptable because of the climate. And I'm doubtful that any person that wants to CTB is going to consider the climate as a primary reason.

There is a very good chance climate change will only affect us the same way it has been the last few years. They have been warning us of the end for decades and it never happens. I honest;y don't think it will make any difference either way.
