My worst nightmares: one gore video that I watched, not that seldom incest and suicide related dreams.

Currently, I have less nightmares. I think I dreamed about the Switch 2 playing with my friends after a friend of mine told me about the same dream he dreamed. Maybe the memories trick me. Idk.

Incapacitating nightmares. I wake up with my heart beating out of my chest several times a night.

Is it because of some trauma or medical condition? Have you tried getting any treatment for that? Bad sleep only makes everything worse.

Yes I'm reliant on sleep meds and I have poor sleep when they wear off. Dreadful dreams. Feel like I've not been asleep. However the dreams are better than my real life.

My life is a horror show and those thoughts follow me into subconsciousness.

I'm done leaving the house, no one makes eye contact with me.

I remember dreams nightly for the most part. I used to rarely remember dreams when I woke up as a kid, or I'd just remember it for the first 5 minutes and then forget, but now it's burnt into my memory very often on a almost nightly basis. Not every time I wake up, but usually one or two of the times. I sometimes wake up often, might be related to my PTSD and the unsettling nightmares. I would take sleep meds, it didn't really change much regarding that, I still woke up frequently and the nightmares still sucked, but it did help me fall asleep and get tierd. Most of my dreams consist of the same events just happening over and over again. Right now it's stuff regarding the abuse my family put me through and my ex cheating on me, abanadoning me with a child, him doing drugs and him being abused by his current/former "partner/abuser(s)?" (I'm not sure what to call them). It's upsetting because it makes me uncomfortable, makes me feel guilty, etc. but the dreams used to mainly consist of SA from when I was a kid, but those seem to have kind of disappeared and have now been replaced by these 2 nightmare scenarios instead that just play over and over on repeat every night. They are pretty realistic too, it's all stuff that have actually happened and that I've witnessed that just repeat themselves.

I don't remember them as well as I did a few years ago, but the ones I remember asides from the ones about me being lost and / or chased in a labyrinthine setting are these extreme strange and out of order snippets from my dreams that make no sense in any context. I'm talking extremely off-the-wall fever dream type shit. Now I know when I've been dreaming because I'll wake up thinking :

Bits and pieces. Even if they're quite banal, they always feel weird and slightly threatening. It's rare that I have pleasant dreams.

Very often these last months for some reason, half realistic nightmares and half good dreams that make me sad when I realize it was a dream

I can't recall my dreams when I sleep well, which is almost always. Guess I'm fortunate there.

Once I tried to teach myself lucid dreaming and failed, but noticed that I was able to remember my dreams every time I set the alarm to 4 hours. Sadly, I couldn't keep up this routine as it made me too groggy during the day.

I typically forget my dreams, but there are some interesting one's I remember.

The most recent interesting one I can remember was about this mushroom that, if ingested, would turn your body into its source of nutrients as it took a human form. Over the course of 48 hours, the mushroom would root under your skin; it wouldn't be very visible at first, but it would eventually reach your face. In the last 12-24 hours, a pod would form around you, and at the end, your body would be completely incased. The mushroom would be able to feed off of your body for a few months, during which it would take a human form. This form could be taken after the person it was eating, but not necessarily.

As the mushroom further corrupted you, you would lose any fear as the mushroom further set in and you would be very willing to give into your demise. It was very difficult to break out of its spell by the end, and you kind of just fell asleep at the end of the 48 hours. As such, it was a popular suicide method; painless, unafraid, and giving your life to another creature. There was ice cream you could buy with the mushroom in it to start the process.

If I only have one thing going for me, its that I don't have many scary or upsetting dreams. Even if they're upsetting during the dream, once I wake up it usually doesn't bother me at all. But when I do have nightmares, they are really bad.

I've had many interesting dreams, lucid or otherwise. I really enjoy dreaming and it's annoying I can't remember them all the time. I've had some very vivid ones that feel real, and I look forward to those the most.

i tried writing my dreams down because thats supposed to help you remember them better. it worked but then i stopped because it was better to forget them. theyre pretty nonsensical for the most part but my father who i havent spoken to in years always has to show up and start treating me as badly as he always did. a couple weeks ago i had a dream i ctb'd by jumping in front of a semi truck. that one was nice.

I remember dreams a lot. They're usually in familiar places, but with a more warped layout, and I almost always have a task of some sort that needs completing.
