I call it a "Harddisk test" for myself.
Meaning, do you care if somebody will be poking his nose in whats left on your electronic devices?
Would you rather wipe everything clean (or encrypt) or just leave it as is?
I'm not into any sick stuff, and all I've got is a few private pics of my former girlfriends when we were fooling around. But in the back of my mind I wouldn't like anyone seeing them. And my personal documents, banking data. On the other side, why should I care?
It seems to me that if you're still concerned about your post-mortem gossip and talks, you're not fully ready.
