• Hey Guest,

An update on the OFCOM situation: As you know, censorship around the world has been ramping up at an alarming pace. OFCOM, the UK’s communications regulator, has singled out our community, demanding compliance with their Online Safety Act despite our minimal UK presence. This is a blatant overreach, and they have been sending letters pressuring us to comply with their censorship agenda.

Our platform is already blocked by many UK ISPs, yet they continue their attempts to stifle free speech. Standing up to this kind of regulatory overreach requires lots of resources to maintain our infrastructure and fight back against these unjust demands. If you value our community and want to support us during this time, we would greatly appreciate any and all donations.

I've wondered recently about how the accessibility of SN will change in the future. Obviously Amazon, eBay, and Etsy used to be places where it could be found, and now it's banned on all of those (IIRC). I know it will be very hard to regulate because it's used in preserving, and even small doses can kill you so it's not like they can regulate it very well using weight restrictions. I was reading an academic journal on SN I think, and a woman died from consuming 1 gram of it, just 1 gram!

Anyways, how do you guys think the accessibility to SN will change over time, and do you think it will be impossible to get in the future? Personally, I think there will be failed attempts at trying to block it unless they find some reliable way to do so.

Nah, as long as people eat meat it will be accessible I think.

Even if that did change, making SN from sodium nitrate is not that difficult.

I think it's inevitable.
Much depends on how many people will use SN for CTB in the near future.
At some point the whole thing will become more media-related than it is now.

Of course, SN will not be banned completely, because it is simply salt.
But availability will be limited.
It will be more difficult for an ordinary person to buy SN.
Of course, if someone is motivated, they will still be able to buy SN.

I have been noticing a lot of meat products now proudly advertising that they are "free of nitrites" so maybe eventually it won't be used for that purpose anymore which will greatly reduce its availability in the general supply…
