Do you guys get envious whenever you read on the news that someone has passed away?

If it was in the news then death was very likely not peaceful. So my answer is: most the time not

Of course I do, in such a hellish world only those who are no longer existing are truly fortunate as they cannot suffer anymore. I see so much beauty in the thought of being unaware of everything for all eternity, death certainly is the only comfort in this world filled with endless pain and agony.

the reason envy them is because no one can blame them for what happened it was a tragedy. This is with most trauma i find its hard to feel blamed but when people go oh it wasnt their fault they didnt want this and so on i do kinda envy them for their easy escape

Not really, depends on the person. If they were a kind, nice person or if they created so much cool stuff, I'd be furious that life took them away from us instead of taking me away. Why do I deserve to live longer but the good people don't?

I was when someone died peacefully in their sleep from covid, but I would have welcomed it. To them it was unfair to die so unexpectedly, they never got the chance to say goodbyes or finish tasks. The whole situation on this planet is so ridiculous.

depends on how they died. and i'm not really envious, more so i just consider them lucky in a way. life sucks, and now they dont have to worry about it anymore. they are now completely removed from any pain or hardship from now on, and i think anyone can consider being relieved from all of life's burdens to be desirable (in general) especially if your life is terrible.

NGL honestly I find myself envious of the preteens-under 18 years old that figure it out and succeed that I read about in the news…while here I am in my mid forties and have spent months researching different methods daily and am too depressed/chicken shit/indecisive to fully commit to one. Plus, availability. I feel compassion/empathy here and a little jealous sometimes. Depends on the day. I'm not a great person.

Yes, all the time. I've always envied people who specifically died younger than me because they're usually remembered in a positive light, "all the lost potential". No one would dare mention that this person could have become a serial killer or a rapist etc... dying young with good reputation as a result of a tradegy (not ctb) sounds like the best way to go.

The worst is when it is someone with a family and friends. They are forced to exit against their will and to the detriment of their community, and yet other people who would not be missed by anyone are forced to endure endless misery for no benefit to anyone. Reads like a twisted joke.

Yes. Two people crashed their cars and passed away in front of my eyes as I drove today. God is taunting me.

Don't beat yourself up. How you emotionally react to something isn't in your control (how you express your feelings is) and it's normal to have a mix of contradictory feelings in response to something. And I think in some ways it can be easier (sadly) for children to overcome psychological barriers to suicide.
