I have dropped meat, dairy and eggs from my diet a year ago when I decided to become vegan.
This after being together with my girlfriend who had been vegan since 2016 and after we watched the documentary Earhtlings together.
Never have I felt happier that I did that. There is so much suffering in the world and I'm glad that I'm not directly contributing to it anymore.
Go for it, it's the most peaceful option there is.

Great to hear. It would definitely fit in my philosophy.

I'm a pescatarian (vegetables, dairy products and fish). It's quite easy for me to stick to, and I feel it's good for my health if only because it requires me to think about what I eat.

I was vegan for a few months, eating only raw vegetables and fruit and seeds. That wasn't easy - it was meant as a cleansing diet and it hurt sometimes - but I felt it had health benefits that lasted for years.

Not vegan anymore but when I was 17/18 I was vegan for a little over a year.
Within the first month of my new diet I lost 5kg and overall I was much slimmer which was noticeable in my face and hips.
The first weeks were rough because I was always extremely bloated from eating veggies and vegan stuff only but that changed after some time.
I ultimately stopped my vegan diet because I moved countries and started both working and doing martial arts whivh required me to have a much higher calorie intake and have more energy.
I recommend cutting meat and diary out your diet but not completely.

I consume meat and I'm not proud of it. Only because it's against animal rights.
Hopefully I can switch to strict vegetarian diet once I have more will-power and stop being a hypocrite.

I have also been a hypocrite for some time instead of "just" a meat-eater. I've justified it to myself by thinking that it's a hassle to change my diet since I live with my family still. If I can move out next month, I don't have an excuse ':)

Probably for the best, regarding ethics and environmental aspect, and own health benefits.
Just a side note, not everyone can do full-vegan diet, some people who commit to veganism for more than a few years can occasionally develop gut problems. But everyone is different.

You'd probably still need B2 supplement and etc in the long run.
But overall I reckon most people should be alright with vegetarian/vegan diet.

Maybe will be a transition process from
chicken, red meat- fish- egg- no egg etc.
depending on individual will-power/ situation.

But yeah. It's certainly worth it.
Many benefits.

I went full vegan 2.5 years ago, but since moving back in with my mom I've been developing some bad habits of sometimes eating crap I shouldnt that contain milk and/or eggs (junk food). I will not consume any animal meat.... but i guess i have (wrongfully) justified animal byproducts as not being as harmful in my more depressed state lately.

There are many ways to do a vegan/plant based diet. Raw vegan as described above is pretty hard to maintain and can be hard on your health if not done properly. It leads to a lot of ex vegans...

Also there is a crapload of vegan junk food and fake meats out there now that can be equally as bad if that's mostly all you eat (I'm guilty of partaking in too many of these).

The trick to maintaining a healthy vegan diet is finding a balance of fruits and veggies, carbs, nuts, seeds, etc. and faux meats and cheese if you're into that. If done right you shouldnt need all the supplements.

I agree that eggs/milk are not entirely ethical, but I think they are to lesser extent than consuming meat.

Thanks for sharing information regarding why the raw vegans fail. I think it makes sense what u said there.

It's getting there! The Impossible burger is frickin amazing. I seriously freak out sometimes when I'm eating them because I remember what a cow burger tastes like and I'm afraid they gave me the wrong one. lol

A lot of the less healthy stuff is pretty awesome.

Honestly the only thing that really needs a lot of improvement is cheese. They just cant get vegan cheese the same.

I've seen what they're up to in those food labs and I wouldn't doubt that we could have pretty adequate replacements for a lot of animal products in the near future.

Yeah I dont eat quorn anymore since I found out it's a fungus. It's a mental thing I cant get past... there are so many other great faux meats though. For chikn my favorite is Morning star.

Violife, Follow Your Heart and Chao make pretty decent cheese.

They're growing fake meat from stem cells now.... crazy! It's kinda creepy though. But yeah, the tech for vegan products is amazing right now. So why cant they make better cheese and egg replacements? lol

I suffer from eczema but have alleviated flare ups by following a vegan diet. I have been vegetarian for nearly my whole life for primarily ethical reasons but I'm slowly transitioning to a more vegan lifestyle.

I'm at a very healthy weight if not on the chubbier side and have no deficiencies. I supplement with hemp protein and take my iron tablets every once in awhile. Other than that, I feel pretty good physically.

Do you eat mushrooms? Those are a fungus right? Also I wonder about the chikn sometimes. I don't know if it's the carbs or if they put crack in it but I can't get enough of those things and it always throws my eating habits off. One of my favorite fake meats though for sure.

I think that following a vegan or veg diet has a lot of health benefits, as long as you can do the work of making sure you're eating a balanced set of nutrients and supplementing where necessary! I'm mostly dairy free, vegetarian. If you don't have any allergies to wheat, your vegan life will be way better than mine! Seitan is amazing!

Nope I hate mushrooms, I'm sure thats why the quorn thing. Even though they aren't actually a mushroom but some other kind of fungal organism. Just the association with mushrooms grossed me out. haha

Haha I thought I gotcha with that one. Mushrooms are kind of gross now that I think about it lol. Spongy and slimy. In other news I went shopping Saturday and got chikn and I binge ate all of it. I don't know what it is I don't have this problem with other food. Buffalo chikn is my crack haha

Yes, I became a vegetarian when I went to the butcher shop with my mother and the butcher killed the chicken, it was on that day that I discovered that what I ate were animals. But as I still eat eggs and dairy products, I feel really bad for this, especially after seeing the documentaries: COWSPIRACY, EARTHLINGS, WHAT THE HEALTH, A CARNE É FRACA (Brazilian documentary), DOMINION…

The impact of the meat industry on the environment and people's health is frightening! There are so many things that we ignore and when we found out... Personally, I was in shock.
