I have always felt like a possession to people. Something to be used until there is no more use left. Rides, money, to vent to/play therapist, sex, favors of any kind, etc.

I feel like some of us were doomed to be these kinds of people, merely peoples' objects to help with their own lives, their own much more interesting & better lives than our owns. It bothers me a lot, that maybe I was always going to become an object for people to use, & that nothing may change it.

Do any of y'all feel the same or have thoughts on it? Have you ever been 'friends' with someone you were merely friends to get use out of them?

I'd say that every relationship is transactional. It can be many things, from money to emotional support. The key is to be "used" for the less material and more integral parts of you, like your personality.

I do feel that I need to be useful to others. Not because I have to but because I want to be more useful to them than other people. Like somehow I'm competing against others regarding who is more useful to certain people. Then again I feel good when people use me. I feel needed when they do. It makes my existence feel somehow meaningful. Then again I wished they only used me without psychological connection. Having a partner who truly loves me makes me uncomfortable. Like they're here selfless and I'm putting a burden on them with my mental state. Whereas I feel like I don't have to feel guilty about that with people who just use me without being emotionally invested in me. I hope that made sense lol
