Recently started a new job, went one day and quit, lol.

I keep looking for menial labor jobs because they usually hire quickly and I can usually just wear a hoodie and sweatpants.

But on the downside, the shifts have been horrible (3am start) and the work is laborious.

I wouldn't mind working if I obviously had the skillset for something of quality such as coding or data science where I can make a real salary doing fuck all.

No, I am currently taking online courses so I can get one but my depression and anxiety sabotage me too much.

I work, however the workplace I'm in is toxic and one of the main reasons I'm depressed. Most people would just say quit and find something that makes me happier, but I don't think there is such a thing.

Quit my job last month because it sent me to an all time low. Got interviews lined up this week. Gonna take a pay cut for a stress cut. Refuse to let a job make me miserable ever again.

Became unable to work a few years ago. For me, one of the hardest things about it is the loss of social connections. I have no acquaintances anymore. I'm so lonely. The social stigma and embarrassment sucks too.

I have to work as I wouldn't qualify for disability and you barely get anything from that anyways . I started a new career last spring so I'm at the bottom of the pay scale. Potentially, it could go up a fair bit but that's even more schooling/apprenticeship and testing. I get crippling anxiety just being on the road getting to work. I keep thinking of getting a small side hussle going, how to do that with how I feel constantly is a good question.

I have been out of work for 13 years (January 2010), I have been receiving a disability pension since June 2020 (before that no benefits or assistance). It is unlikely that I will ever work again.

Fa 13 anys que no treballo (2010), percebo desde Juny del 2020 una pensió de discapacitat (abans d'això cap ajuda). És poc provable que torni a treballar.

By doing fuck all, I mean no physical labor.

Sitting at a computer all day is vastly different from lifting heavy boxes for several hours straight with no breaks.

It's better yeah, but don't sleep on computer work. I work my ass off for minimum wage right now.

Different strokes for different folks.
Having done roofing and white collar, I'd choose the former. Though that's partly due to me enjoying outside weather, and the physical aspect. It leaves you feeling accomplished.
Having to do coding can get mentally exhausting and frustrating fast to the point where you want to break down. It's very taxing.

This isn't a competition on who has it worse, lol.

I've seen plenty of job listings for positions in data science or cybersecurity that pay a lot.

I'm not denying that coding can be mentally taxing, hence why I said I don't have the skillset for it.

However, from my perspective, making bank sitting at a computer is a lot better than making two or three bucks above minimum wage to throw your back out.

It is better, but your original fuck all comment is still absurd. I feel pressured here to just speak plainly lol, sorry. I've worked hard since I came out of a 2 year programming course, and my software engineer brother works harder than me.

I'm chronically unemployed. The most frustrating part is I cycle between highly functional, motivated, self sufficient, etc. and the opposite. So when I have a job I'm fairly good at it, even great if it's a job I enjoy. I've held my actual dream job and people see me excel, which gives them expectations for me to maintain that. That feels great to have as long as that constant support and validation is also maintained. As soon as my mental state spirals, the job goes right out the window. I cannot perform my duties and pretend to be normal. My experience, skillet become worthless and my reason for being employed invalid. I'm about to be required to hold employment meeting certain criteria to stay out of jail for 3 weeks, so that's going to be nightmare.

Had a job interview today that went really well. They've come back asking for my ID and references so I guess that means I got the job. The manager was super friendly and not intimidating. I hate interviews so I'm gonna wait for them to get back after checking my references before bothering to apply for any more.

Today marks 4 weeks of no alcohol and drugs so maybe the universe is blessing me for that. I have no desire to drink and no money for drugs so I don't see any issue going on.

That is why it is called code monkey job. Every job description has fast-shit environment mentioned a hundred times in it. Because faster means cheaper per hour.
Better to be a doctor crook and feed on other people's sufferings milking their insurances.

Nah, I just quit one day cause my boss is a vile piece of shit and I was sick of being harassed by customers. Never regretted it for even a second. And now with my life coming to a close, I see absolutely no reason to spend the remainder of it working the majority of my waking life at some shit job for shit pay.

No. I lost my job after having a mental health episode and I'm not stable enough to look for a job again. Also, I had traumatic experiences and don't think I can overcome it in order to work in my field again. I would have to get a job where I don't have to interact with people too much, and at the same time I have a physical disability which would exclude me from many types of solitary jobs. We'll see, I guess.

Yes I have two jobs right now, but they're messing with my mental health a lot. I want to quit but I'm scared I'm too incompetent and unqualified to be able to find another job if I quit.

Yes. It helps me, as being 66, it helps me stay active in body and spirit. Also paying rent and the like is every month with other bills thrown in.
