When I decided to commit suicide I started to listen to nde (near death experience) survivors while in mental hospital. They talked about feeling love peace, everything making sense. Also mediums and spiritual teachers say there is love on the other side. I had this feeling that it's good on the other side and going there seemed fascinating not scary. It made it easier to try crossing to the other side. Now I stared to doubt spirituality seeing how hopeless my life is and how many unnecessary suffering there is in the world. But the NDAs seem pretty convincing. What do you think?

Funny you mention that since I've just started watching those too. Must be something getting pushed out by the YouTube algorithm to people like us lol. I've also gotten some from people who use it to try and claim that their religion is correct and all that. Honestly I'm of the idea that there's something after death, just not sure what exactly. If it is what those videos describe though, all the more reason to cross over.

So back when I was studying at a religious school, I had a teacher try to convince me so hard that "Near Death Experiences prove the existence of a Heaven". Which is a nice sentiment if you believe in Heaven or Paradise and your ability to get in there.

So while I personally don't believe there's anything to consciously experience after death, no one can say for sure what's out there, making your guess as good as mine in that regard. It's a comforting thought, and we all need those sometimes.

I agree, I think there's also something after death and that it's gorgeous on the other side. But no one can say for certain

I've noticed that many people on here believe there is no other side, but I disagree. We came from somewhere before we were born here, besides our parents. Consciousness is not very well understood, but i believe it continues after death. I've read a lot on the Mediums subreddit and they think that our consciousness continues outside the physical form and that there's a massive life review all must go through. We see all our life's choices and how our decisions affected others. We are definitely a part of some sort of cycle here, regardless if we remember or not. Not saying I like it, but it makes sense to me that there is another world outside of death that we return to. I think it would be hard to do a life review as a suicide and that's what scares me most; I'd hate to witness the grief of the loved ones I'd left behind. Not sure I'll have a choice though ;(. This life has torn me apart, it's a chore to get through the day.

Logically I don't think there is anything and its just like falling asleep without dreams. You log off.

If there is something like spirits, reincarnation etc... Then I hope that I will have free will to reincarnate/proceed cause I ain't coming back here 😶

There's nobody on earth who knows if there's an afterlife or not. NDEs can be explained by the surge in brain activity when someone is dying. Some people think that one's sense of time can be affected when this happens, so it may be possible to experience an "afterlife" when you die, although I've heard many people say they just feel overwhelming love and peace. Personally I hope that I can feel love for all of time after I die, but a simulation created by my brain would be enough for me.

I just believe death to simply be non-existence which is all that's good and positive for me, all I want is to be unconscious for all eternity with this futile, torturous existence that just causes and brings so much suffering all for the sake of it and problems there were never a need for finally all gone and forgotten, to me existence truly is an abomination and I wish I never suffered more than anything.

I don't believe there is an other side. all thinking conscious is only created by the brain. i another human is just a brain.

1 micro-second after my brain dies i will cease to exist for all time which is non-existence forever the ultimate
bliss

eternal non-existence is the only guarantee of never suffering so badly it's a trillion times worse than one can imagine. idk if anyone has ever heard somebody say "i felt pain or suffering i never knew existed" : it's there but most people don't know how much the brain can torture a human or other sentient animal

Evolution is true. where did life come from ? what is life what is a human , who or what are you?

a cell evolved 4 billion years ago. it had DNA , the genetic code ( the language of DNA), ribosomes ( the machine that makes proteins according to the instructions language of DNA, RNA, ATP ( the energy of the cell) , cell membrane and other machines. all of these exact same machines are in a human brain cell and most other tissue cells . all of these are also in a fly brain cell , fish, mouse , monkey brain cell also.

there is no way any of these could have come from anywhere else other than that first cell. that first cell is in every cell of a human now including brain cells. sure that brain cell added functionality and machines on top of that core but it's still that cell . then the ability to copy itself and join with other cells and viola you have a multi-celluar animal or human but it's still just the same original cell just duplicated 30 trillion times and conjoined .

the brain creates a model of attention . consciuosness is only a model of what the brain is paying attention to. you can think of only one thing a a time.

it's not about the other side being good or bad, it's about whether or not there is another side at all, which i believe there isn't

Can't help but believe there isn't an other side. I don't see why humans are uniquely deserving of any reward or punishment just for existing. Then there's the fact that even if there was one we would eventually get bored and stop thinking. Reincarnation avoids this but is still undesirable since you are no longer you, might as well just not exist.

I'm not religious, but personally, I think that this might be hell. There are things in my life and those of others that don't add up. Just think about randomness. Why do some people suffer so much, having event after event that makes things harder, never having even the time to recover. I've met many people that don't even know why someone would suffer in life, because they never had anything bad happen to them. It's not that they're positive or anything. Everything always seems to work in their favor, even bad things.

I cannot believe this is real. It isn't random. I had a counselor that believed I was exaggerating. She was in my life for 4 years, and after the first year she wanted me to visit a priest, because she firmly believed I was cursed. After 4 years with me, she had to stop, because my life made her feel hopeless. She worked with many people like me, but she had never experienced anything like this before. Not even close. Still miss her, because she was one of the only ones that took me seriously.

Just by reading this forum, and all the pain and suffering people go through, it can't be random. Such fragile souls being tortured to no end.

I don't really care what comes after this. Probably nothing, but the question remains where your consciousness goes. There being nothing isn't really possible in my opinion, but I could be wrong.

If there is a heaven, let's hope my dogs are waiting there for me. Now that would be heaven.

My opinion is that there probably is an afterlife, but I do not know for sure. I have read books on what happens when we die and they all point to going to a very pleasant place. I hope the books are true, but I am not certain.
