  • Hey Guest,

Today, OFCOM launched an official investigation into Sanctioned Suicide under the UK’s Online Safety Act. This has already made headlines across the UK.

This is a clear and unprecedented overreach by a foreign regulator against a U.S.-based platform. We reject this interference and will be defending the site’s existence and mission.

In addition to our public response, we are currently seeking legal representation to ensure the best possible defense in this matter. If you are a lawyer or know of one who may be able to assist, please contact us at [email protected].

"God is dead" (NIetsche)
Yeah but I read this argument often from pro-lifers. I googled it and found thousand of articles about it. Doctors should not be do assessments about assisted suicide. Quite ironic because doctors decide everyday by their actions whether patient sdies or not. This argument is fully bullshit. Was it gods plan that genocides happened? Shouldn't we take anti-diabetic drugs because God' plan was to die by it? This does not make any sense.

Aren't the anti-choice people the ones who want to play god. Determine about other people's life and questioning their pro-choice stance. If someone has the belief that religions do not make any sense for him why should be the person obliged to follow their rules? Why have the churches so much influence despite the fact more and more people become secular? In my country this discrepancy is more outstanding than in the US.
In most countries doctors are too scared to help suffering patients to die peacefully because they are scared to get sued. Why is the media not talking more about this issue? The topic death, suicide and dying is not good enough for balanced and nuanced articles. This is not what the advertisers want. They want articles that get much attention and evoke disgust so that the people are raging on social media and share the articles. This increases the stigma of suicide and is very counterproductive for having a differentiated discussion.

I have sometimes the feeling I want to be my own god/ruler. Not in the sense that I have supernatural abilities . But I want to create my own ethical principles and I don't want that somoene else is dictating me what I should believe or not. I want to be an independent thinker. You call this forum a cult I call the catholic and protestant church a cult. I would like to criticize them even more but I don't want to hurt religious believers with my words.

Why only the Catholic and Protestant churches? ALL religions are indeed cults!

I find it hilarious that religious folks and even non-religious people label certain entities (religious or otherwise) as cults, but they fail to apply the same label to the largest and most widespread cults in existence - religions!

The following is not a joke at all, there is deep meaning and wisdom in it
One day, man and God met somewhere, and on seeing each other both exclaimed simultaneously, "My Creator!"

All religions are stuck in the mediæval ages and have failed to evolve with the times. There is no use in attempting to have a debate with religious people on the ideas of life, death and suicide as they have been so completely brainwashed by their religious indoctrination that they have lost the ability to think for themselves.

i hate this argument. if god existed and didn't want people to kill themselves, why would he even push them to the point where they want to ctb? considering they think he's omnipotent

We "play God" when we dam a river, cut down a tree, put down a sick pet. There are countless examples. That "playing God" (who does not exist) phrase has always deeply annoyed me.

I don't believe in a god, but you could say we play god whenever someone gets any medical intervention. If there is a god, then he wanted me dead years ago but medical doctors intervened by operating on me. Maybe he even wanted me dead as a kid, but medical doctors intervened and gave me antibiotics.

yes, but i think "playing god" is an unavoidable part of human existence and that it's a part of almost everything that we do to some extent.
