Do the briquettes for charcoal have to be glowing to work

Does carbon monoxide still release from charcoal that's not glowing? I'm in my car with briquettes that are ashy gray but not burning or glowing anymore. how do I know if this is working?

You feeling dizzy or have nausea? You should either fall asleep, fall unconscious depending on the amount CO released or if it's too low will get a headache etc Definitely need to research this properly

Coals emit CO 2-3 hours after burning.

If you survived this attempt, let us know what you did -- how many charcoals, how you set all this up after burning and how long after burning, etc.

I'm curious as to why did you have to be cruel and condescending to someone who is clearly attempting suicide in this very moment. What the hell is wrong with you? Maybe try a little compassion? Why do you care they created another thread specifically for this question? Do you pay for every thread somebody creates here? Is it somehow a personal burden for you that somebody creates a thread? And maybe think logically and realize they created another thread to make this question more visible, as they are clearly trying to find a answer quickly.
I'm not trying to be mean to you and I'm sorry if I hurt your feelings it's not my intent but seriously, try to be more understanding and don't attack people for innocent things and don't accuse them of doing something like creating a new thread as if it's a horrible horrible wrong thing to do and they should be ashamed-it's not. It's not a big deal, and if it annoys you personally simply ignore and move on because in that case the thread wasn't made for you. Also "if you die then it's working" anyone can figure out that, the question was asked because the person was clearly looking for reassurance instead of just going blindly and hoping it will work, and probably to find out if they need to light the coals again or not instead of wasting time waiting and see if they die because maybe they are short on time. There's really no need to be snappy to people with answers like that.

Sorry if you think i'm being cruel. But i was merely asking why the OP didn't ask that in their other thread. I understand what you said. I do not take any ill will towards your post at me either. No i don't pay for threads, No it's not a personal burden for me that some one creates a thread and i guess i'm not logical. I don't see how i was attacking the OP either. And yes please ignore us members that have no compassion.

Lmao I see how it does seem harsh it was probably because it's not the first time I'm seeing stuff like that and when I was talking to you I really was talking to everyone I saw do this before. While do think about what I said, don't take it too close to heart, I really don't want to cause you any hurt or pain.

@Iwouldratherdie have you sealed up the vents and any areas that could let in too much O2? Did you burn enough coals? Are they good coals? If you put it in the car and but it's too drafty there won't be enough CO building up, then you open the door and decreased the CO. There are so many variables. If you pass out within a few mins then it's working but even then you could wake up an hour later with a headache and CO poisoning? If this method was fool proof and easy i would have done it weeks ago. Sorry we can't help
