Do many people jump?

I'm wondering if many people on here actually CTB by jumping?

It seems like a pretty solid method as long as it's from high enough. I know it's not always accessible and there's SI to think about, and the potential effects of failing.

Just curious as obviously people can't report back here if they have jumped and been successful.

They most likely can't report if they fall and live either. I don't know where jumping ranks on the list but like many other methods it's scary and goes against the minds natural need to survive.

On paper jumping is the perfect method. If you do if from high enough it's pretty much an instant painless death. However, even the thought of jumping is just impossible for me to fathom. Humans are hard wired to be naturally afraid of heights and we're also hard wired not to harm ourselves physically. You'd have to get over both of those things to do it and that's a tall order.

The cliffs not far from me have been active in recent years. Its no secret as each case is plastered on the news head lines. We've had cars found at the bottom, a young couple . A family. Some tragic tales, very sobering and painful. One young couple lost their son to disease and they were so bereft they took ctb to the cliffs.

I've seen news articles about people ctb by jumping. I don't know how popular it is but I guess that it's always an option if theres a place high enough. Jumping is terrifying to me, I think that those who ctb this way must be really desperate to leave. I do envy their courage.

It is the way I am considering. I visited bridge near my place several place. Plus I can jump in the hole between the stairs at my workplace. I am just unsure about the height. Are 8 floors enough?

I personally don't mind the thought of jumping, but it has too high a chance of causing trauma to others. If I could jump from someplace high enough to guarantee death without forcing anyone to see or clean up my remains (it's also extremely messy) then it would be a method I seriously consider. As it stands I don't think I have any accessible heights from which to accomplish ctb and I don't want to involve random bystanders to that extent.

It was my method in mind before discovering this website, however there're disadvantages as you say; "there's SI to think about, and the potential effects of failing".

I believe as long as an alternative like SN exists, it loses any sense going for jumping. N would be even better but currently we lack a supplier. If I had easy access to a shotgun, I'd believe it's still a better method than jumping by "safety" and pain in every sense.

The idea of jumping scares me so much. I even get anxious doing indoor rock climbing! I've heard people report seeing people jump and saying it's the most horrific scream they've ever heard.

8 floors is not enough to ensure you die. I would think you would want at least 15 stories or more. People have lived after falling out of planes so even that is not going to be 100%

Yeah, I don't think we can ever really know how we'll react until we're in those situations.

This is not for me, but I used to think about this years ago. Jumping does fail sometimes and the person is left with horrific injuries. Same goes for failed gun suicides. I think shooting yourself in the head while on a ledge and falling would pretty much be a 100% success rate. The plus is you would not be conscious while falling. That is what would scare the crap out of me the most. Even small rollercoasters scare me when they drop.

I've shared it. It was just this. Of course I suffered from broken leg and sacral bone but if I didn't survived, then I would be painlessly gone from the jump. Though, it was'nt very high - just 7 meters and very impulsive.

Where i live most of ctb are by hanging but there are cases of jamping from huge bridges mostly in my case i cant even look down.

I think it's probably more popular for people acting on impulse. Nothing to prepare, nothing to really think about, one step off and that's it. Couldn't imagine the thought process whilst you're falling though

In China jumping is probably by far the most common ctb method, due to high availability of buildings here. Pretty much guaranteed death SO LONG AS you jump from a place high enough

Find somewhere quiet and/or do it at night.
