sorry if this is a stupid question but if i'm buying from dmc do i need to test my SN? also what exactly is the reason for testing it?

You are testing it for purity. For SN to be effective it needs to be very pure. Above 95% pure nitrite or so. You can read more about it in the SN Megathread including how to test. It will tell you exactly. SN from DMC has always tested good by users on here but if you want that piece of mind it's up to you.
I couldn't live with the anxiety & did blood & Aquariam tests for DMC & both good.

I was quoted a week. It took 3 or more. Longest, scariest wait of my life - every minute felt like days.
