So my parents told me that universities often give extra points to students that are at a younger age. They said if the student reaches 20, the college admissions office gives a disadvantage to that student, which would prevent entry into college. Is this true?

I don't think college admissions care as much about how old you are as long as you can give them money.

In fact, if anything they seem to prioritize international students because those automatically have to pay even more money just to go to some universities.

You can often get more federal aid for going to college when you're older.
