Just curious bc I just came across one of those instagram videos where a bunch of teenagers explode for example 250 grams of firecrackers with 20 L of petrol, the explosion looks big enough in size to destroy a human body. this is all pretty accessible and very easy to do and I thought that hmm:

if u go to a place away from the city so the explosion doesnt harm anyone else or any structure and just light it up next to ur head while laid down shouldnt it in theory be a quick and painless death?

I had to google that method of suicide. Wow, it definitely makes a statement. The case study used by the NIH was a military veteran with expertise in explosives. The pics don't lie; the suicide method worked - it was definitely fatal, very quick, and for sure a closed casket. My biggest issue would be using enough of the right type of explosive to do the job proper and not risk just really messing myself up.

That's an exothermic petroleum reaction. Most explosions have a lack of fire because alot of the fuel is destroyed during detonation and not spread.

The things you see are not explosions, they're just the fuel being ignited and spread by the fire cracker, there is basically zero shockwave, you'd be essentially throwing gasoline on yourself with basically zero internal damage.

Explosions come with 3 things that are lethal, over pressure, shrapnel (aka spall) and concussive stress, the ones you see on insta (I got one of those on reels about 45 minutes ago) are just the gasoline in itself (not diesel, that doesn't light like normally), being violently spread about as the containers get punctured and the fuel mixing with the air and being ignited by the firecracker.

There's a reason and a good one, why a lot of the stuff to make an actual lethal detonation, will get you put on a watchlist. This is why everything like you mentioned is so readily available.

When planes or a helicopter fall out of the sky they don't "explode" their fuel tanks just rupture and again spread kerosene, it's like dragging a water bottle behind a car. Real explosions are hard to make and for good reason.

And this is 4 years worth of contractor experience talking here and learning albeit limited EOD at this time.

Avoid this, you'll just be burning yourself and not even much either. Some 3rd to 2nd degree burns.

Apparently it is really easy and researchable on clearweb, i think but im n out sure that anything that sparks / detonates with a shit ton of petrol or fuel around it would work

Yes it's a common misconception that flammable = explosive.

Unless there's a lot of it under extreme amounts of pressure. It's just gonna burn with flashback, like how a jet lighter works.

I don't know if you've seen grenade kills before but there's no fireball it's just dust and a shockwave that tears you apart.

If you fuck up you'll just burn yourself very badly. With frags it's the shrapnel in the blast that kills and where it hits you is random, if you even mange to produce a viable device at all.
