What value is there to a life that wants to end?

a friend messaged me in the morning that they feel like they're going to lose me in some way, but at the same time they started matching profile pictures with someone they know i'm uncomfortable with which makes me wonder how sincere it really is. that person acts so similar to me too, and i have to wonder why it even matters if i do disappear if i can just be replaced so easily by any of their other friends.
