Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

If you value the community and would like to help support its continued operation, donations are greatly appreciated. If you wish to donate via Bank Transfer or other options, please open a ticket.

One of the aspects I'm struggling with at the moment is the gap between short term/instant reassurance and relief. Helping you get over a wave of despair or dysregulation or impulsivity. E.g. some kind words that give you a glimmer of a hint of restoring hope in the state of things.
Nice. So now I'm more regulated and balanced. But how do these short term instant quick fixes translate to longer term, bigger picture care/support/better health.

The main example I'm thinking here is using something like letters on reasonstostay.org depending on how I'm feeling, I can find them super reassuring and give me a glimmer of hope to fight for. But sometimes I find them upsetting with knowing I have just sabotaged and ruined and hurt and upset anyone who has been closer to me and tried offering genuine support. It all becomes a bit of a jumble.

Like someone distracting you from ideating or even preventing an attempt. But then can't physically be there for you 24/7 on call. Boundaries. The odd exception can be made in crises, but this is not sustainable.

I've got myself jumbled now. Maybe someone might make sense of my disconnect

I appreciate this post, I can really relate to what you're describing. To me, it feels like short term support is like putting out a fire, while long term healing is figuring out why the fires keep starting and making the house less flammable. You need both and one doesn't replace the other.
