  • Hey Guest,

Today, OFCOM launched an official investigation into Sanctioned Suicide under the UK’s Online Safety Act. This has already made headlines across the UK.

This is a clear and unprecedented overreach by a foreign regulator against a U.S.-based platform. We reject this interference and will be defending the site’s existence and mission.

In addition to our public response, we are currently seeking legal representation to ensure the best possible defense in this matter. If you are a lawyer or know of one who may be able to assist, please contact us at [email protected].

So, let's assume i am somewhere on a road (possibly railroad) reasonably away from human settlements, at least large ones. there's a forest nearby. i walk into the forest, away from trails, let's say, 5 or 10, maybe more (reasonably deep, generally), kilometers deep into it. i successfully cbt there. how realistic that would be, that i can accomplish that? what the probability the body would be found there in a lifespan of those who would be concerned? what would hurt more to them: them finding out right away or only possibly suspecting suicide and finding it out much later? how long would it take for the body to be found? how can one reduce the chance of being found? What do y'all think about this generally?
for reference, 1 km = about 0.62 miles.

I don't know. I know of one guy who abandoned his car and hasn't been found. He committed suicide.

A delayed email to the police so they can find you shortly after would spare a bystander from finding it on a nature walk, fresh or partially/completely decayed

I think the idea is quite appealing, in theory, but in practice.... the woods are pretty scary, especially at night. I wouldn't want to be anywhere near the woods in the dark. I would be scared of my own mind in these circumstances more than anything out there.

Do you have no family? If you do, won't they be in nonstop state of tension, they won't be able to sleep, or digest food.
It's best if you can schedule a delayed email to them, so they at least don't think you are kidnapped or in danger.
And yeah if you're going so deep into the woods, informing police with a delayed email also a good idea.
