There was a man who die just by thinking too much. He locked himself in his bedroom and started to think a lot during the night and died. But I can't find his name. Anyone knows?

All I can find is studies that show thinking too much can shorten your lifespan. We don't have time to play the long game here!
It was a real case. I couldn't find it yet but the cause of death was that as I've read. But I don't know he had a previous condition.

I don't doubt that it was real. People have done some strange shit before. Truth is always stranger than fiction. I'd still be curious to check it out if you run across it again.

Well if thinking too much could cause death I would have died a long time ago and would not need to be researching methods on this forum, believe me ! I did a PhD in philosophy so thinking too much was part of the job description....

Sounds more like he died from loneliness and isolation. There is a study saying that it can lead too an heart attack. I myself deal with loneliness and isolation and my heart have been giving me issues. Right now I'm hoping a heart attack would take me out before I finally decide to off myself. But with my luck, I doubt it...

The brain actually thinks (in the sense of chemicals firing between brain cells) nearly all the time, at the conscious or unconscious level.
I don't see how 'overthinking' could be a proximate or immediate cause of death.

I did some extensive Googling on this and couldn't really find anything, just lots of articles about how over thinking can lead to an early death.

Yeah, I don't think people die directly from "overthinking", but maybe overthinking increases stress and anxiety, which in turn, can lead to other health problems and shorten one's lifespan. Usually, people who die then die from heart-attack, stroke, cancer, and other causes.
