  • Hey Guest,

Today, OFCOM launched an official investigation into Sanctioned Suicide under the UK’s Online Safety Act. This has already made headlines across the UK.

Did you experience any kind of hair loss after your failed attempt with SN?

The title pretty much sums up everything. How bad was it? What other less well known side effects have you felt and noticed with SN?

I made this survey because I saw one survivor who reported hair loss.

If this proves true, it's certainly a strong incentive to get it right the first time.

If it was reported just once then it was probably exceptional circumstances or a rare side effect, though I await being proven wrong because somewhat frustratingly not much is known about SN. Even so, I would rather go bald for a few months than end up brain damaged or locked-in or some other horrific situation.

It can technically cause hypoxia-induced polyneuropathy, & EMTs can knock your teeth out when intubating you (with no repercussions) because it's a "life saving measure".

In one thread a guy mentioned going blind for "two?" days… Not sure if I'm misremembering.

Hair loss is definitely a concern, but lots more can go wrong with this method.

Not trying to fear-monger. I just want people to be as informed as possible of any potential pitfalls. 😓

Hmmm not complete baldness but I noticed that I have a lot of hairfalls compared to before but it could also just be because of my illness. However, one of the symptoms of SN overdose is hypoxia which is lack of oxygen distributed to tissue level. Hair is secured on the scalp by hair follicles which absorbs blood from its root for growth root, no oxygen in blood then not much health provided for hair.

that may not necessarily be attributed the the physical aspects of SN, it may be more the stress that a failed attempt can cause, which in turn can cause hair loss

Anything is fair game for these people as long as it "prolongs life". No consideration for the newfound deficits in "quality of life" that they inflict upon others in their desperate attempts to save them.

Before my attempt, I'll write DNR with a permanent marker that's obviously visible. I'm not sure if it'll work, but that might cause hesitation to these "rescue workers".

It will not. Try if you wish, but a suicide patient is not considered to know what they want regarding life and death.

Honestly, I've already lost so much of my hair on top of massive amounts of other shit.
This is the last fucking thing I need.

Did they say it was temporary?

Does anyone know what biological process (set off by SN) would cause this?

Do you remember what thread that was, or any other details of the guy who claimed to have gone blind for two days?
(SN is my method)

I have been gone on and off and I only remember the one thread about a failed SN attempt where the member woke up on their own and watched the blue dissipate from their skin as the days went by.
That one freaked me out the most because the SN straight up did not work, so it makes me wonder how long I can be out for, while still being able to regain consciousness in some worse off state later on.

I also recall someone who was interrupted during their attempt and they were left with some sort of heart condition.
But I had yet to hear of blindness or hair-loss until now.
I am also never sure what to believe because I know some people here have ulterior motives (I don't mean you of course! You're great lol), I have questioned whether some stories of attempts and failures are tall tales or exaggerations (or pro-lifers trying to ward people off of a method), it's usually impossible to know for certain.

SN seemed like such a guarantee as long as you weren't found, back when I first joined.
I still have no other viable choice but to use it, but my god.. I definitely cannot fail with all these other side effects coming out.

These lawmakers are writing nonsense. I've been planning this more than what I plan for dinner. I'm making rational choice to CTB.
