Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

Decent hotels for SN?

What are the kinds of hotels I should look at for SN for my last day? I can't afford extremely expensive ones, but at least a moderately priced one. I am in USA. Ty! I can't wait to go. I might even look to do video chat during my time to ctb.
Really depends on your area. I will be using a holiday inn near me. I will book a room for the week of my birthday and have fun with a friend the days leading up to the day. The day of I will attempt to ctb so I'll be found probably the day after.

I don't think it matters too much, when I was looking at Airbnb and hotels, I had planned to book an extra day after I'd ctb just so nobody would find me too early.

I didn't say video chat. Haha. I said I'd have fun with a friend. In other words I'm going to drink, have sex, so on. My friend doesn't know what I have planned for the day of my birthday just that I want to be alone that one day. I've used him for sex before. Years ago. He knows that it will lead nowhere and is just mutual fun.
I would go for any big chain hotel. 2-4 stars depending on your budget. Really it just depends on what you can afford. I would stay away from Aribnb or anything that is a small business or family owned.

I acknowledge that this is a serious matter and I'm hoping that you don't take offence to what I'm about to say, but I can't help it. Some people will smile, some won't. I hope most will smile. Injecting some humour in the darkest of moments sometimes helps. If you want to CTB and you want to go out in style, why not chose a Trump Hotel! As for live streaming, the Russians probably already have hidden cameras installed.
@saintives I hope that put a smile on your face, I use humour to cope with my darkest moments. I wish you peace.

And if you say you're a democrat you might get a discount!
What they are trying to say is that suiciding in an Airbnb is pretty unfair to the owner of the place.
Big chain is probably better (2 rooms would be best so you can put some kind of warning on the door of the second room to further decrease risk of some innocent person becoming traumatized).
Just put up a sign saying "call the police, don't enter, I have killed myself".
Well, it doesn't have to be an abandoned cabin in the woods exactly, could be an abandoned building or structure some place semi-remote, a place no one would notice.
As far as airbnb's having cameras, I've stayed in a number of airbnb's and some have cameras outside the house, and some hosts have been caught with cameras secretly installed in the bathrooms. Pretty sure I read a story about that somewhat recently.
Hotels/motels, no...they don't have cameras inside the room, I don't think...I hope not.
Some Airbnbs are owned by businesses, some by individuals. See who the property's host is to determine.
The issue for the Airbnb property owner, if it's a business, will be turnaround time for dealing with emergency services and cleaning, possibly having to replace a mattress, etc. They may have to cancel on the next person to have reserved, and then that person's plans can get screwed up, as well as lost revenue for the Airbnb owner. And if they have to cancel, it will show up on the profile of the property, so people will be less likely to reserve with them later since they last-minute cancelled.

Generally hotels have cameras in the hallways, public spaces, etc--but that's for security. But that's a given for the most part. They normally don't have the staff to monitor 80-500 rooms at once to see what people are doing, and tell if someone is really living or dead, or up to something, or just doing normal things given their health situation.
I don't think it really matters. Putting a sign up saying call the police because I killed myself is risky though. Someone might walk by your door and see it and call the police before you've even passed out from SN. Sure it might be the "right" thing to do but it could come back to bite you.

They could use the classic "do not disturb" sign outside the door, and if they really wanted to be certain, tape a folded up note to the back of the sign (eventually some hotel worker will have to touch the sign to remove it) indicating to notify the police and/or EMS, etc.
I would never do it, but it kind of depends on the airbnb. Some are just semi-legal hotels now. But I wouldn't feel right ctb at a Red Roof Inn, and those are for hookers. A cabin out in the woods might work. I've looked into some at state parks, and they're affordable. There could still be people around, though, so in the end it'll probably be somewhere deep in the woods for me or some old unused cemetery in a patch of cornfield. I live in a place with lots of choices. In a weird way, that's helped me hold off on ctb.
