Meaninglessness
Existence is absolutely meaningless

Many of society´s laws are based on religion. Murder and suicide became unlawful sins because of Christianity. We live in a society which is in denial of human death. The society tries to force people to live in a world where we will all die anyway. If humans could live forever, the society would try to force us to live forever. Probably, there have always been stupid laws and injustices in civilization. In November 2022, we have the misfortune to live in a time where the biggest injustice is the lack of human euthanasia.
All people must die so why not take the initiative to go peacefully when we still have the chance? The mainstream approach to handle the end of human life is terrible. There are people who are terminally ill for months or years. I myself have suffered from non-lethal health problems for years. Our pets are euthanazied at the veterinarian, but humans are supposed to live until our life ends naturally even if we are suffering immensely. Preferably, we are expected to die from old age no matter how our life turns out and no matter what we want. It is as if a natural death is something that brings some sort of glory.
Due to the high average life expectancy, human life is about short-lived pleasures and what awaits most of us are decades of pain and illness. Life is time-limited and should be meaningless - we are born to die. Why should we be forced to live until we die naturally if we no longer can derive any pleasure and satisfaction with life? Why should I suffer for years when there is lethal medicine which is the solution to all my problems? Why must we squeeze every single last drop of life out of life itself like it is a commodity? It seems that no one even have the encourage to ask why we must die naturally and not have the option to plan when and how we will leave this world. End of life planning should be embraced. The society takes care of births and cures diseases, but avoids human death and pretends death does not exist. There are so many benefits to end of life planning. You can live and die with dignity. Knowing when our end will come is basically having control of life. Death is the solution to many problems: chronic illness, chronic disability, chronic pain, poverty, loneliness, meaninglessness and homelessness. But we should all have the right to determine the time of our own death.
Death is the hardest thing we have to go through. The fear of death and the survival instinct keep us alive because we are programmed to live. There are people who are suicidal for many years. There are people who are tormented for decades in meaningless suffering. The fear of failure keeps us alive - what if I become even more disabled? But no one should have to commit suicide alone without the help of a physician, who can help if something goes wrong. However, all people can´t afford physician-assisted suicide in Switzerland, an injustice that should be remedied, and must therefore find another way.
How do you overcome the fear of death? There are several ways that promise to relieve us from our fears - we can either run away from it, leave it to somebody else to deal with or face our fears and try to overcome them. There are people who claim that they can overcome the fear of death through exercises. But the fear of death is the strongest emotion. I don´t think that you can overcome it. That is why we are here on Sanctioned Suicide. However, if we could have euthanasia, the fear of death wouldn´t be a problem. So our fear must depend on the method and or the risk of failure and possible because we have to die alone. To get the courage to die deliberately without the help of a physician, I believe that the pain of living or the meaninglessness of life must overcome the amount of protection the body can provide, but a couragous and determined action is also needed.
