  • Hey Guest,

Today, OFCOM launched an official investigation into Sanctioned Suicide under the UK’s Online Safety Act. This has already made headlines across the UK.

This is a clear and unprecedented overreach by a foreign regulator against a U.S.-based platform. We reject this interference and will be defending the site’s existence and mission.

In addition to our public response, we are currently seeking legal representation to ensure the best possible defense in this matter. If you are a lawyer or know of one who may be able to assist, please contact us at [email protected].

We must all die. It is something natural, the human being dies. Animals and plants will die. The planet will die and the Sun will one day become so big that it will explode and stop shining. Galaxies will collide or be completely absorbed by the black hole at their center. And the universe may one day stop expanding to begin to contract and everything will be again: nothing... then there will be another Bigbang and that will indicate the death of our universe and the birth of another where the cycle will restart and there will be human beings and animals that will die and a planet that will be destroyed and a star called Sun that will explode.

It's a natural cycle... a beautiful cycle. A cycle where none of us matter. Where our decisions do not matter, and it does not matter the fact that we die since that does not affect the cycle at all.

A cycle where it does not matter that we have failed, or that we feel bad... it is the cycle of everything.

The idea of such a giant universe. a dark void that is capable of swallowing us all without the slightest hesitation and for which human civilization means absolutely nothing. It's an idea that reshapes me. Because it makes me realize how insignificant and unimportant we are.

It doesn't matter that we feel bad, or that we feel that we have no future. None of that matters to the universe, not animals, not about plants... nor to the planet or the star that one day will explode regardless of whether you die or live today.

You are free to feel and act as you want, because that doesn't matter to anyone.

You're wrong. It's an AI unicorn fart powered utopia where ultimately the global elite will get eternal life in a singularity in return for their brutal genocide of the Iraqi people for oil.

How has it reshaped you? Are you planning to live significantly differently now?

I liked what you wrote, I'm bad at seeing a bigger picture sometimes. I still feel too full of anxieties to embrace much though. That and too limited on time. Maybe I'm incapable of change aside from my steady decline.

Thanks for reading. In times when stress is very hard or anxiety unbearable, I like to think about the universe... it is very difficult to see the whole picture because we are usually too stuck or scared with only a small part of the landscape... it's the way I let my mind be free and calm down. I wish you the best friend, you deserve to be able to change and have the life you want.

I always love deep philosophical posts like this. What you've described seems to be about a philosophy called Nihilism. I also feel the same, in that Nihilism is perhaps the only one thing that at least still comforts me a little bit, amidst my heavy depression, anxiety, & suicidal feelings & thoughts everyday. Nihilism also somehow makes all my complete failures in life as a 40 years old guy to be totally meaningless & pointless in the grand scheme of everything (or universe/existence). That is somehow comforting, even when it's really hard to do so, in reality, as we're still living in this world/life/society everyday with all the problems, stress, worries, anxiety, depressing situations/conditions, etc etc etc (which is why I'm more of a pessimist now, try to look up on Philosophical Pessimism, and also stuff like antinatalism, efilism, depressive realism). Thank you for this post.

Thank you friend. It's really comforting in times like this where your thoughts torture you and keep you from sleeping and the only escape from suicidal desires is to think that nothing matters.

I find death to be comforting personally, as it is the end to all my suffering. Our lives really are so insignificant, all of our problems will die with us. I see life as just being a pointless experience that we go through for the sake of it, there is no point to living, there is so much unnecessary pain in this world. I believe that life should not be a thing in the first place because if you never exist, you never suffer. It is true that death is a part of life, and it is the only part of life that I want.

Nice post and thanks for sharing your thoughts. Life is impermanence. I became accutely aware.of.this when i became ill and i walked in a.forest nearby. Nature is impermanence like humankind, we live and then.die. Its guaranteed and yet some people think they will live.forevermore. We die and return to the soil and become part of the natural elements of this world. Im relieved to realise that my carbon will act as nutritious food for trees and plants. One day this world will implode into cosmic dust and any remains of my carbon dna.will continue its journey through the cosmos. So death is not feared becuase eventually we must let go of everyone and everything..PEACE.

I agree with the OP. I don't think the objective universe has any meaning outside of our subjective evaluations. If there is, it's very unlikely to know.

Nothing matters. In 200 years nothing we do will matter. Every human alive now will be dead and forgotten in 200 years. In 1000 years? A human can only think of one thing at a time and that is an inaccurate memory : Try to remember what the people were wearing the last few times you went to the grocery or retail store
