Dear spies the media and people who want to shut this site down. This forum is a community and a lifeline for the voiceless and people who are often times marginalised for feeling the way they do in a society that doesn't understand. Without this site I would have little to no one who I could talk to about my dark and often times lonely thoughts. Most (if not all) the goodbye threads have had some of the most caring responses I have ever seen. Nobody is encouraged to end their lives on here. In fact many just listen to the desperation of that suicidal person and give them nothing but love, unconditional support and compassion in their times of need. We listen to each other because in many way we are those people. Do you not think we have not seen the doctors, talked to the Samaritans, took the pills, tried to find help already? There is even a recovery section on this site for the people who are trying to turn their lives around. The more you try to silence us, the more you will push us underground and make us even more desperate. In many ways it is the badly formed structures of society that have made mental health problems worse. So you are either part of the problem (trying to silence us) or the solution (give us a voice). Where do you stand?

well said. No one is selling anything or suggesting to others that they should commit suicide.
No one is harassing, mistreating, humiliating, insulting, abusing, or dismissing sick people as attention seekers, all forms of psychological abuses that lead someone to commit suicide.
Wait, isn't that happening regularly in the society and in clinics?

Instead of attacking this community, do you really want to do something good?
Find a person in your town that has suffered for mistreatments, that is alone, or has been abused, or bullied, or has health issues. Talk to him, hear his frustrations, lend him a hand. Realize that there are other life experiences that are not as bright as yours.
Or is it too annoying for you?
Enforcing laws on these people won't help them. It will only help you and let you think that, even if you mistreat any person close to you, he will not have a chance to join a forum for suicidal people.

It's not anyone else's place to decide when it's my time to leave or whether it's justified. I'm not a child and most of the people aren't here either. People who are against suicide have nothing to offer but toxic positivity and lip service involving hardship they don't understand. "Suicide prevention" is another form of cruelty that pushes people closer to suicide and what a majority of society offers certainly isn't practical or tangible forms of relief to actually have a chance at preventing it.

People who are anti choice only care about themselves and feeding their delusions that they're a good person. Using force and censorship on people is not a form of help; it's a form of cruelty. I've seen Schizophrenics in a psychotic episode that have a better grasp on reality than people who think that force somehow prevents suicide.

If these people really wanted to help they'd provide housing and guaranteed income at the bare minimum but they don't. Are they going to take people to their appointments, pay for their medication, comfort them, try to understand them, support them emotionally, physically, and financially? No? Then they need to mind their own business, nobody has any say on whether I get to leave; least of all a society that only pretends to care.

There's nothing but lip service from a society that constantly spouts nonsense about how the resources are out there when there are little to none in reality.
