Groceries are labelling all Canadian products with maple leafs, and US products are being condemned.
The LCBO (liquor store) website was down because they were removing all US products.
Every business owner and their mother is advertising the fact that they're Canadian and and to buy from them if you hate the tarrifs.
Our Premier won because his campaign explicitly stated that he would not bend over for Trump and he's ready to hit back (unfortunately it made people overlook the fact that he's going to fuck other things up but that's a different topic).
People are complaining about the US at parties, and it's unanimous. Only Trump supporters of a truly delusional calibre are still MAGA. It is so relishing watching a former MAGA Canadian join the cause of hating Trump because they finally realize that he is truly someone with no goddamned plan. Starting a trade war? Social suicide to try and justify that.

That's my Canadian experience so far with everything happening politically.

I say this as an Ontarian in the golden horseshoe, so I obviously am not speaking for all of Canada. Nonetheless, this solidarity is the funniest shit I've ever seen. Fuck the trade war. Screwing over your next door neighbor and ally and not your overseas enemy? That's rich. Fuck Trump. My heart goes out to everyone, American or not, who're going to suffer for his decisions. Especially those who are racialized, queer, trans, need disability support, and any other marginalized group under the sun that Trump hates.

Most definitely agree! And I've done my fair share of getting mad at people I know who didn't vote. I get why people think that it doesn't matter (Ford was the majority in my riding so my vote was cast into the void). But it's a numbers game, I dont get how so many people miss the fact that every little thing counts. I don't remember which riding, but I saw one where Liberals (or NDP I forget) won by 4 votes.

I mainly say that that campaign sealed the deal because his ads were legitimately the only good ones I saw from any of the parties preceding the election (to my chagrin). All the other parties' ads were just Doug Ford slander (the only ones I saw/heard, some friends of mine said they saw good ads for NDP... after the election), and it always ticked me off that they never talked up their own party without talking Ford down. Like I agree man but what are you gonna do instead??

Trump could burn the country to the ground and you're gonna get, but he did some good things! They must praise their lord no matter what. A cult sees what it's been fed and what it wants to be fed. In the US, conservatives/republicans have trained their sheeple so amazingly well not to think critically like at all, about anything. They practically live in an alternate reality. It is incredible how they get their base to consistently vote against their own interests. Easily distract them with hate, culture wars, scapegoating, owning the libs, all the while picking their pocket.
