Do you guys have dark circles? Are they genetics or formed through nights of insomnia? Have you tried making them disappear with skincares and such?

I've had dark circles since my teenage years. Even in my childhood photo i had them, yet i was sleeping like normal as a child. Maybe it's genetics, but when my insomnia gets severe they get so much blacker. I look half-dead most of the time (coincidence? i think not). I've tried sleeping more but they just won't disappear. How to make them disappear? Help a gal out here cuz i don't wanna look like a corpse before it's official.

I get them when I don't sleep for a few days. I get the reverse when I tan a lot and my eyes stay light due to the goggles. I don't use makeup often, but a little concealer works wonders when I need to make a presentation or have an interview. All it does is even out your complexion.

I think dark circles are attractive. Dark circles and overbites are two "flaws" that I love.

I'm kind of a layman skincare expert but dark circles in not something I've treated. I guess niacinamide is suppose to help. The ordinary has it for cheap and it has good reviews.

I don't have dark circles but regarding skincare I would recommend using eyecreams that contain vitamin C. This ingredient has the potential to brighten skin. I've heard Ren eye brightening cream is good, also Inkey List has an eye cream for brightening which has a more accesible price. Before buying anything I would suggest googling reviews on brightening eye creams:) Hope you find something that helps.

I have dark circles under my eyes since I was super young, I guess it's genetics since I tried to sleep more and early plus other things that were deemed helpful in the fight with this, without any success. Used to be really affected by having dark circles cause I indeed look like a fucking corpse and it's a huge reason why I'm so ugly. I'd use a concealer, didn't help much but still there was a difference. Nowadays I don't care anymore cause I'm drained of everything and it's not like I get out much anymore.

I'd say using a good concealer and/or foundation is your best bet. I had them pretty much all my life, even as a kid, and I tried multiple methods to make them go away in my teens but none really worked. Another thing that I realized is that they really aren't as noticeable to other people, they just kind of accept them as a part of your facial structure, so I wouldn't worry about them all that much.

Circles under eyes may associated with the liver. Simple things such as low water intake, wheat, refined sugar, low nutrition, and high fat / fried foods can cause excess stress on the liver.

also this is from a book called The Liver Cleansing Diet by Sandra Cabot M.D. "...in chinese medicine a 'stagnant' liver results in 'fermenting and heat' which causes 'fire to rise' leading to disharmony that works in a two-way cycle, emotional stress impairing the liver and liver disharmony causing adverse effects on the emotional state. agitation, irritability and anger, poor sleep, dizziness, headaches, anxiety, depression, even suicidal tendencies can be associated with an unhappy liver. Chinese doctors often treat weight problems, insomnia and depression by helping liver function..."

I'm not saying the dark circles are definitely because of your liver, I'm just reading this old book right now and it so happens to mention circles under eyes so i thought i'd mention it

They can be caused by hyperpigmentation (fixable) or genetics. I don't think they're necessarily a bad thing as long as your skin looks healthy. Sunscreen and moisturizer will get you most of the way there. Here is some good info on dark circles from a dermatologist:

Stay dewy, my friends.

if it isnt genetic, dark circles can be a sign of anemia. i used to have dark circles when i was neglecting meat consumption. red meat fixed it up real quick like in a week. leafy greens will not work. you need that heme iron
