Dangers of newcomers?

Hello,
Lurker for a while but recently actually joined. Have no clue how to use this website but I know what I feel deep down is completely in line with a lot of people here. Anything I should steer clear from while I'm here?

Personally, I don't find this a 'dangerous' place to be- quite the opposite- it's a very supportive community. It's going to depend on you though really. If you feel like it's not helping your mental state- or- making it worse- probably best to take a break. Or- try the recovery section if you are interested.

I'd say- from what I've heard anyway- any rumours of N (nembutal) are likely to be a scam. Personally- I'd be wary of trying to find a CTB partner on here. Not sure if you're even interested in that. I think it has worked for some people but it seems like a big risk to me. And obviously- think carefully about sharing any personal information.

Otherwise- I've never experienced anything unpleasant here. Welcome to the forum.

basically watch out for scams, don't give irl info or meetup with people, and be cautious of people who egg you on subtly to ctb. Most people are in the same boat and will try to help/listen but there's always going to be a few bad apples that could be here for some messed up reasons.

Someone else can probably give more niche insight like "use this feature to avoid triggers" or something but I'm not tech savvy enough for that.

Be careful who you say positive things to. Many people don't want suggestions for improving their lives

Just remember that you cannot trust people at all, and this place isn't always a safe space for suicidal people, even here sometimes there is no escape from pro lifers with their toxic positivity and just cruel people.

yea as many said be careful who you trust. don't ask/offer sources or methods, and try to stay ambivalent (don't encourage any certain behavior) over time you may find a friend or two you can trust but keep your guard up and practice safe browsing. read the stickys.

Many people here are desperate, genuine, loving and empathetic. However as with most media, be careful. Some people are volatile and thats understandable considering mindset and circumstances. I believe the law and the church have befriended me here so be careful. Respect the rules.
