All of the cases I've read about this are horrifying. I want to scream when I think about it. I can't believe people can be so cruel. I feel like vomiting just thinking about all of the people who want to die being kept alive like this. I feel so horrible for these people. Even animals aren't treated like this. I can't cope with knowing this.

I feel like we haven't evolved much past animals honestly. Yeah we can understand our environment and build technology but we are mostly indifferent and cruel as a species, fueled more by hatred, religious superstition, ambition and stupidity than anything. I have a DNR filed with my doctor, but I was asking her if it was in a database or something where a hospital could access it. She said, no. So if I'm in a horrible car accident my wishes will remain unknown until they speak with my doctor—who know how long that would take? Then I asked what I should do if the person who would have power to make health care decisions, in this case my sister, would have to abide by my wishes. Again, the answer was no. My sister could keep me hooked up to a feeding tube. I don't underetand just keeping people alive just so they can feel like heroes or something.

That is so horrifying. We all deserve the option of a reliable and peaceful way to end our suffering, no one should have to resort to risky methods. It is cruel how the society forces people to live. Hanging scares me personally. If someone decides to ctb then that is their life and their decision, and that should always be respected.
