So basically I'm not afraid to kill myself and I feel its much better than hanging. So according to my research a 1 cm cut longitudinally in the artery (at the wrist) doesn't close on its own without intervention or surgery. And the pain would only come from being cut nothing else. I have an aspirin 75 mg to not let the blood clot but the color and smell disgust me. But they say one will experience painful air hunger (suffocation), severe thirst, ischemic pain (bone throbbing), worst headache and cramps all over. I'M SO CONFUSED. Is bleeding to death (exsanguination) that painful??? I usually take hours to cut a few millimeters so it gets less painful so that isn't a big deal for me. I'd appreciate insights or any knowledge from u guys. Or we can just talk abt anything random.

I was gonna cut my brachial artery combined with a bunch of OTC meds. I took the meds first then when it came to actually doing the cutting I wasnt able to.
Does it work? Not as you expect it to. Think of your brain as another person. Now question yourself does that person want to feel pain & die? No, so when it comes to actually going through the cutting process there will be a point in which your brain will either say no more or I cant do this. Im telling you I wanted to do die so bad but I physically couldnt go with it. I was already in other forms of pain. I just wanted to die so bad but I couldnt go thru it which led to me getting put in a psych ward (ruined my life Id say). It's not worth it as a method and I would avoid it. Look up do not attempt methods on here. Theres a list of them. Each has its own reason.

Right now Im not suicidal but I am in a state that I hate. If I were to attempt again I would consider methods proven to lead to a peaceful death & mild to to no pain such as SN. People usually dont fail with methods that cause no pain.

From my little knowledge in emr i do believe bleeding out will be very painful in the beginning. It causes the body to pump more blood to the designated area due to the body trying to stabilize the circulation, wich causes oxygen in the blood flow to not reach the brain sufficiently. With it being the artery, the constant blood flow will most likely not clot as well. the Inital pain will be significant or extreme, but after a while the pain will die down and most likely transition towards numbness. dizziness or loss of consciousness. (if im wrong or missed anything sorry)

Hey there!! Thank you for ur reply :) appreciate such a long paragraph. And glad to know that u transitioned from being extremely suicidal to be in a much better place.

I have cut in the same place for like 4 mm deep( many times). So when I actually cut, I don't feel any any panic. Cutting is like watching a series for me, not a big deal. I'm not heavily suicidal but also have no reason to not do it. Cutting in the skin wasn't that painful as I was very slow n careful. Do u think there's a chance that I won't meet the artery at all in the first place? And isn't the brachial artery much deeper that the radial one to cut into? So I think I can cut into the artery without panicking (or atleast that I think for now), I just hope it would be a quick one for me. I hope even if I'm rescued I won't be paralyzed or something by cutting the wrong nerve or tendon. So what was the painful part for u? Was it the mental agony or fear of doing it?

Hey buddy, thank you for ur warm reply !!! :) Appreciate it. Are u a nurse or a doctor by any chance??!!
I had asked AI, it was like you will feel this pain that pain after 20% total blood loss. Even if rescued u will have to be amputated. Or have hematoma. How long do u think I will take to black out with 50-70 ml / min blood loss? Thank you again :)

Im sorry im not a doctor, but I believe the time does vary from person to person if i were to guess, maybe 27ish minutes, but it varies heavily depending on things like weight and position. i could be far off. and ofc.

id say with that maybe a bit quicker, but in the same area, maybe 19-27 minutes could be as low as 10 minutes, not sure though
