Help CTB Location Advice

So I'm 100% set on CTB via shotgun, but I'm having some struggles with location. I have a place out back of where I live in which I can do it, but it has some complications. It's overall a pretty nice place to go, I don't see how anyone could stumble across it, and I'd say I feel comfortable there. I'd like to be able to sit there for an hour or two, think on my reasons, relax, and steel my resolve. But I live with others and I can't just go out in the middle of the day. I'd like to go out at midnight or something, but the people I live with have horrid sleeping schedules so I'm finding myself having to go out at five or six a.m. and let me tell you, trying to beat SI while your brains whispering "Why are you doing this now? You can just go back to your room and fall back asleep. It's fine, just do it tomorrow." Is not at all fun. I know this is a bit of a long shot, and I doubt anyone can offer anything but I'd much rather not deal with tiredness and SI at the same time. So if anyone has any possible ideas to give, I'd really appreciate it.

Loud noises at 6am would wake up even the ones already passed. Why can't you go out during day? I mean, you could simply lie and say you're going out for a walk. Is the spot visible from windows of your stay?

That is definitely a far more preferable option than doing it while exhausted. Though there are three reasons that stopped me from originally considering it.

1. It has a lot of risk. The spot where I'm going to do it isn't in view, but on the way there or back it's very easy to be seen while holding the gun, and if I am seen… well not much room for interpretation.

2. I'm scared that if I do it when someone's around they'll find my note too early. If they call the cops and I haven't done it yet, then I'm screwed. If they see it and come out and I haven't done it yet, then again I'm screwed. And if they see it, then come out when I've already done it, they're screwed.

3. It applies a bit of pressure from time. When I want to take it at my own pace.

I really appreciate the help brainstorming, an outside perspective is very helpful.

Do you have a car? Surely there's nature areas somewhere.

I have a car and doing it in the middle of nowhere really far away from any outside influences sounds like it'd be pretty nice. Where I live is sufficiently rural, so I don't doubt that there'd be somewhere I could go. But I don't know of any place that'd work. The only guess I'd have for that is to drive around and just hope I find someplace that isn't likely to have people snooping around anytime soon, and isn't just some random dude's property.

Edit: How would someone go about finding a random location that is out there enough you wouldn't have to worry about someone stumbling upon it? Other than just blind searching.

If you are set on the outback, can you maybe take the gun at your suitable time, hide it there and do it the next day when you can? Can you schedule an email with your notes? That way you can delete it if you change your mind.

Yeah I'm thinking this'll be the best plan if I can't find some other more efficient way to find such a place. Hope I get lucky enough to find a good area, lurk around there to see if people come around. And if it's good enough stick with it.

I've thought emailing the cops to be a good idea but I don't know how to do it so I'll have to do some more research on it.

You could use Google Maps to look for places. For instance, if a wooded area appeals to you, just switch to the satellite view and explore your surroundings. If you zoom in enough you might even be able to see the trails that lead to the woods. Similarly, you'll be able to spot out lakes or other scenic spots. If you find a spot you like and want to get there by car to investigate, you can use the traffic view to find out the best route - you can even check for typical traffic conditions in specific days/hours.

As for emailing the cops, you could use delayed email services such as FutureMe.
I'm researching spots myself these days and I'm happy to have stumbled upon your post. It's somewhat comforting knowing that I'm not alone in this research.
