I am planning to Ctb as soon as I can. I went to the nearest gun store today and the process seemed less daunting than I assumed. I just need to pass the fsc provide certain documentation like id and utility bill. The problem is I have only gone to the shooting range once a couple of months ago and o my take one shooting course. I forgot a lot of the essentials but taking another course is hard because they're not as frequent and soon as I'd like them too and then my process becomes longer.
I am studying for the test, but I don't know much about guns. I was wondering on any insight about what caliber ammunition I should buy. I prefer a smaller handgun because it's less conspicuous and easier to carry. I can't do it in the city so I have to drive really far out into the desert or some isolated corner so I don't get caught or worse face imprisonment or anything for having the gun loaded. I'm probably planning on watching more videos on how to operate my gun. At the store today (awkward because I'm not a regular gunman), I saw a pistol that seemed pretty good in size. A Model 22 cal .40 4.5 blue. I don't know if .40 will do a good job on blowing my brains. I've seen several threads that consider a shot to the heart as far more lethal, but frankly I prefer aiming at my brain.
I'm planning to take the test Monday so I can study a little and then I have to wait 10 days for my background check before I can pick it up at the store. It's expensive, so I hope I don't encounter any hindrances.
Any insight or knowledge form your part would be useful and appreciated. In the summer, I was considering driving to Nevada or Arizona the day of...but it's too much of a drive and planning and I just started school and don't have much time on my hands for that kind of planning. I'll have to settle with somewhere in the isolated parts of So Cal.
Thank you.
