I read something about this, but I can't find it. It said that this was very common in ancient China, but it didn't give any specifics. It would be interesting to know.

According to Google, it would take 0.2-0.5 grams of salt per lb of bodyweight. So say you weigh 140 lbs, you would need to consume 28-70 grams of salt to be fatal, that's a LOT of salt. I feel that would be very uncomfortable to do, and it would probably be fairly painful as well.

I read it just now too, I think I might ctb in a while, so I'm just trying to find a way before actually doing anything. Maybe like combining it with meds too??

My friend, I really don't know. Don't be too hasty. Like others say above, it's probably painful.

I've been messing around with ChatGPT lately and asked about your salt method and its effects. Here's the conversation we had.

dweams: Could someone die from eating too much salt? How much salt would be fatal and how long does it take from consuming salt to death?

---

ChatGPT: Yes, it is possible to die from eating too much salt. The amount of salt that can be fatal varies depending on factors such as age, weight, and overall health. However, consuming more than 3 grams of salt per day can increase the risk of high blood pressure and other health problems.

In extreme cases, consuming a large amount of salt in a short period of time can lead to a condition called hypernatremia, which is characterized by abnormally high levels of sodium in the blood. This can cause symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, seizures, coma, and even death.

The exact amount of salt that can be fatal varies depending on individual factors and circumstances. However, it is generally recommended to consume no more than 2-2.5 grams of sodium per day for adults.

If you or someone you know has consumed a large amount of salt and is experiencing symptoms such as nausea or seizures, seek medical attention immediately. The time it takes from consuming salt to death will depend on the amount consumed and individual factors but seeking medical attention as soon as possible is important in any case.

---

dweams: Say I were consume to a large amount of salt within a short period of time. Could you explain the symptoms hour by hour please?

---

ChatGPT: If you were to consume a large amount of salt within a short period of time, the symptoms of hypernatremia may appear as follows:

Within the first few hours:
- Thirst
- Dry mouth and throat
- Restlessness or irritability
- Muscle weakness or cramps

Within 12-24 hours:
- Nausea and vomiting
- Headache
- Confusion or disorientation
- Seizures

Within 48 hours:
- Coma
- Brain swelling (cerebral edema)
- Respiratory arrest (breathing stops)

It's important to note that the severity and timeline of symptoms can vary depending on individual factors such as age, weight, and overall health. If you suspect that you or someone else has consumed a large amount of salt, seek medical attention immediately.

---

dweams: Thank you for the information. Could you provide some easy to understand sources for further reading please?

---

I mean, even eating a spoon of salt is difficult and sounds awful. Much less reaching the fatal dose. Sounds like a horrible, gruesome and slow death. Conclusion: works but extremely low success rate and definitely not advised.

Maybe it will be interesting. In this video described case of overdosing on soy sauce which is the same as overdosing on salt.

Wonder for someone with existing heart issues, how much sn would need to be seasoned in rice to ctb. I've read a few instances of death in this scenario. Just wondering, certainly not encouraging. For a healthy person, it'd just be a wast of sn.

Read the case reports on near fatal hypermagnesemia. I'm going to make a thread about it eventually but if drink 2-3 ounces of epsom salts or Magnesium chloride, you will go into a coma and your heart will stop within hours. People in the reports pass out within 2-3 hours and will likely die without basic medical intervention. I've experimented with elevated doses lately, maybe 10-15g daily, to familiarize with the potential side effects such as headache or diarrhea. So far only lower doses of MgCl move the bowels and I havent gotten a headache. I actually think the higher doses might even cause constipation.

I don't think an overdose on other electrolytes such as Sodium or Potassium sound fun, at all.

I attacked one of about ten interesting studies that I have found. Most were nonfatal because people got some calcium at the hospital, but they were comatose.

If you want to search for yourself, use https://scholar.google.com/ and https://sci-hub.se/ for any paywalled articles
